Biography

Revolve

His love for house music started at the end of the 80ies when he first came in contact with the “Turn up the Bass”-compilations. This contact ignited an almost unsatisfiable urge towards record stores. Buying and listening to hundreds of records, he started to develop his own taste in house music. First he was mostly into trance, but very soon after he switched to techno due to the lively underground techno scene in Eindhoven.

In this scene he met several people, with whom he started to organize underground parties in tunnels and other not-so-legal places. After enjoying the local music scene for several years, he met Gideon and a collaboration was born. Revolve joined AntiClub and started taking an interest in making techno music himself. He produced several tracks in 2005 (under the name Rolf Bisschops), on labels such as AntiClub and MinimalPlus. These were very obscure and techno-oriented tracks.

After DJ-ing for many years at places like Effenaar (Eindhoven), Doornroosje (Nijmegen), Bootleg DJ café (Rotterdam), AntiClub parties, Extrema and other venues, Revolve started his own record label called “Consumer Electronics” in 2009. The first release - “Change” - was received very well by artists like Heiko Laux (Kanzleramt, Berlin), Estroe (Connaisseur), Angel Molina (Sonar Barcelona), Vasco (The Room, Madrid) and Alexxei n Nig (Deep Federation, Italy).

That moment producing took a giant leap. Within a few months Revolve produced several tracks and from there on he started releasing tracks. These tracks were noticed by several techno artists, most notably the underground hit “Nothing But The Bass”.
 
After producing various styles of underground techno music, 2010 brought Revolve an ambition to cut himself loose from his underground roots and putting his focus on his warmer and more eclectic side. This will be displayed on his debut album which will be released before the summer of 2010 on the Dutch label Grayarea, run by Alexis Tyrel.

Revolve isn’t limited to certain genres or styles of music. This is the reason his DJ-sets are so different and unique. When listening to a Revolve-set you can expect a wide variety of styles such as minimal, tech-house, electro and techno. But most importantly, his sets are warm, funky and uplifiting...
