Long before coming together in 2018 to form the duo ‘alko’, Alaa and Sherif met in a college classroom in Beirut. Their passion for music from a young age as well as the uprising scene in their hometown allowed them to bond on dance floors. 

Upon moving to New York, the two best friends were fascinated by the city’s unique nightlife, which inspired them a few years later to embark on their musical journey. 

With a flavor all their own, alko began to deliver silky smooth sounds influenced by the oriental rhythms of their Middle Eastern roots; the duo’s Burning Man experiences also shaped their growth into playing transcendent sets filled with melodic tunes and enchanting drops.

The duo have played in some of NYC’s hottest venues — like Avant Gardner, House of X, and Gospel — and have ignited dance floors in Turkey, Costa Rica, Mexico, Miami, and Los Angeles.

With recent appearances at SXM Festival and Tithorea’s Labryinto, the pair is clearly on the rise. You can catch them at Coachella later this month and stumble upon them on the playa this summer.

Comenzaron su carrera en el año 2015, han tenido la posibilidad de presentarse en provincias como Mendoza o Rosario y ciudades del exterior en reiteradas ocasiones como Miami en Estados Unidos o DF y Tulum en México.  

Su influencia por la música de los 70’s y 80’ los llevo a editar música en sellos discográficos como Desert In Me, Soundteller, The Purr y Massive Harmony.

Cuentan con el apoyo de artistas como Hernan Cattaneo, Facundo Mohrr, Soundexile, Nicolás Rada, David Hohme, Valdovinos ,DSF, entre otros.
