This profile is dedicated to Sergio Zurawski's Portuguese project, the Zurawski Ensemble.
Sergio Zurawski is a guitarist, composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer, born in 1959, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, based in Brazil and Europe. Besides playing with the Portuguese groups Madredeus, Couple Coffee and his own project Zurawski Ensemble to name a few, Sérgio has also specialized himself in composing and producing soundtracks for films, TV and theater
Zurawski Ensemble are a dynamic redefinition of the classic concept of a chamber group. Their intensely poetic, playful songs are accompanied by a fusion of Fado-inspired and neo-classical musical styles, further enhanced by Zurawski's flawless Brazillian influence.
The sextet comprises female vocal, violin, cello, flute, classical guitar and electric guitar. The latter is played by  Sérgio Zurawski, founder of the ensemble and a mainstay of the Brazilian music scene, who has lived and worked in Portugal since 2001 with acts including Madredeus, Couple Coffee and Paulo de Carvalho.
The rest of the ensemble have a similarly impressive pedigree and draw influences from personal experience across the Lusophone world.
