A Dj e pesquisadora musical Andreia Around explora as diversas sonoridades do mundo, passeando por diferentes estilos e vertentes, apresentando em seus sets um mix de sons clássicos com influências culturais, ritmos diversos e releituras, que conduzem o ouvinte, ora a uma narrativa conhecida, ora a uma nova experiência sonora. 

Residente em diversas casas da capital mineira, já passou por palcos de importantes festivais, e tocou no icônico The Troubadour, no festivo Brixton Jamm, e no badalado restaurante Mano Mayfair, todos em Londres. 

Em 2023 passou a fazer parte do time curatorial de embaixadoras do WME - Woman Music Event, reforçando sua pesquisa livre e temática.

Showcasing am the amazing new music that’s emerging within a three mile radius from my front door. Encompassing Jazz,  Funk, Neo Soul , Afro-Beats , Balearic & House. 

House music , in its various forms-that I’m hearing and buying, along with older tunes I missed whilst on a vintage music sabbatical and a few classic cuts from my record shelves . 

The Bruk-House mixes are a sound I’ve been getting together that encompasses soul, funk, jazz Latin, African tinged beats and looser house rhythmics 

And a few other styles I love ❤️

Having cut his teeth as one of the original resident DJs at the seminal Venus, Nottingham in the early 90’s, Christian went on to play at most major venues across the UK and Europe during the halcyon days. Early in the decade he was named ‘one to watch’ in MixMag, gained pride of place on the Face Magazines’ barometer of “What’s Hot and What’s Not” listed as “…a Balearic DJ who can mix…” and later was named DJ of the Month in i-D Magazine – which in turn led to a coveted place on their World Tour alongside Tony Humphries.

His career blossomed further in the ensuing years and bestowed him not only with the privilege of playing alongside such luminaries (and musical heroes) as David Morales, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and Danny Tengalia but also his original inspiration, Graeme Park. By the mid 90’s he established himself as a staple at the legendary Southport Weekenders and secured a monthly residency at the Ministry of Sound. A disco-tinged house sound rapidly became his trademark and was also prominent in his later production work under the Nu Soulboy moniker with remixes and releases coming through such labels as Virgin (VC) Records and Todd Terry’s SoundDesign imprint. More recently his production work has been reinvigorated with two tracks coming out during 2023 and further releases slated for 2024.

To this day, he continues to produce and DJ - remaining an ambassador for “soul-based music to dance to”.
