It's a decent representation of me behaving myself and in non-confrontation mode, sticking to a script and playing primarily brand new rap of the era. "In 2009, I was asked to play the video game convention E3 in support of the release of Activision's DJ Hero. There were only two rules: include some of the mash-ups I made for the game, and no cursing please. I obliged (mostly), and there's some fun moments....recorded several months before the 2009 Halloween set, this is less about the dance floor than an attempt to reference the broader contributions of the DJ and DJ-based music. Watch out for the Coldplay/Bonecrusher mash-up, which is one of my favorite things I ever did."- DJ Shadow

From The DJ Shadow Archives - E3 All Vinyl Set Part 1 (2009)

In 2009, I consulted for, and appeared in, Activision's DJ Hero video game.   As part of my involvement, I performed at quite a few industry events and eventually did a couple of club dates.  Some of these sets were more rehearsed than others, and the quality varied.  This one, recorded live on Halloween night at a KCRW benefit, was far and away my favorite of the bunch...both in terms of technical display and song selection.  I'll post some of the other recorded sets later, there's some nice moments along the way.- DJ Shadow
