shams D m – also known as Shams Drop Microscopic – has been a vibrant force in the Dallas DJ scene since 2002. His journey into electronic music began serendipitously in 1996, cruising the streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh, when a friend played the timeless track "Children" by Robert Miles. At the time, neither the artist nor the song title was known to him, but it left an indelible mark. Years later, upon arriving in the United States, Shams rediscovered the same track while walking into the legendary Lizard Lounge in Dallas. That moment solidified his destiny in electronic music.

Shams soon became a regular at Club One and felt an irresistible pull toward DJing. He gained recognition among the Dallas rave community as a founding member and resident DJ of Afterlife. After Afterlife closed its doors, Shams took a brief hiatus but returned stronger than ever, commanding the decks for two years at Lower Greenville’s Nora alongside his crew, The House of Champagne. Building on this resurgence, he joined the renowned collective Capsul, further cementing his place in the scene.

Shams has also been instrumental in organizing celebrated music festivals such as Destination Unknown and has shared the stage with global icons like Doc Martin, Josh Wink, Sahar Z, Khen, Davi, One of Them, Stelios Vassiloudis, Quivver, Audiofly, and more.

Rooted in a love for synth-pop and new wave, Shams weaves sonic journeys characterized by melodic synthesizers and hypnotic rhythms. His sets blend Deep House, Techno, and Breakbeat into immersive experiences that connect deeply with his audiences.

In his recent work, Shams focuses on curating hypnotic techno, house, and breakbeat tracks, showcasing underground artists from across the globe. His sets evoke powerful emotion, unrelenting rhythm, and a profound sense of unity on the dancefloor.
