AZIZ returns to NYMFIELD with his second EP called 'Soul'. Four smooth deep house cuts making sure you're warm during these upcoming winter months. The EP starts with the title track 'Soul'. A tune with attention to detail within its layers. This in combination with solid beats, heavy bass and soul soothing chords, makes the tune true to its name. 'Higher' is a lush deep house record which finds its inspiration more into the mid-00's era of deep house. More techy and tighter beats in combination with deep pads and lush chords. Advancing into the EP we encounter the soul uplifting 'I Wish I Knew'. A bit reminiscent of summer and its glory days, this record is filled with synths, catchy vocals & that old school groove. Rounding off the EP we have 'Can't You See'. A proper mellow deep house cut. While the EP holds his basis within the deeper sounds, AZIZ brings multiple vibes & energy levels to the table. His 'Soul' is out on all major platforms on the 17th of October

Gruuv returns with David Pher’s ‘Alternative Facts’ EP this June, featuring two remixes from Johnny D.
Berlin’s David Pher is a name synonymous with the German and the global underground house scene having been involved for the past two decades in various capacities such as working with Jazzanova’s Sonar Kollektiv imprint behind the scenes. The past ten years have seen Pher developing his own sound via imprints such as Solid Grooves, Material, ViVa and of course Audiojack’s Gruuv where he returns to here.
Opening the EP is the original mix of ‘Back Into My Veins’, setting the tone with a stripped-back groove led aesthetic focused on an organic percussive swing, bumpy sub hits and hypnotic spoken word vocals. Title cut ‘Alternative Facts’ follows and again shines light on dynamic modulating drums and a hooky low-end drive, while a smooth ethereal pad occasionally spirals through the groove.
‘Fire In Dub’ is the third and final contribution from Pher here, taking a more nostalgic Techno approach with a resonant, wandering sub bass, murky low-pitched vocals and glitched out percussive whirrs. Mannheim house pioneer Johnny D then steps up to rework ‘Back Into My Veins’ with two remixes, his ‘Gentle Mix’ as the name would suggest takes a more restrained and gradually unfolding rhythmic approach while the ‘Dubby Mix’ focuses on intricately evolving bass and synth programming alongside Johnny D’s signature heady drum groove.

Sllash & Doppe - Freak On

Kittball Records continues to re-affirm its place in the underground with a new EP from Sllash & Doppe. These artists are cousins who have released on a wide range of labels from Glasgow Underground to Great Stuff to Toolroom, and their latest release 'Aguella' on Beatport is still rocking the tech house top ten. 

Opener Lego is six sizzling minutes of low slung, bass heavy grooves that drive you forwards. The bass is rubbery and the percussion crisp and standout. High Love then ups the ante, with chunky drums and silky bass that really gets under your skin. It’s a fiery cut with big vocals and bigger kicks that will shake floors into action. 

This excellent Lego EP is another winner from this definitive tech house duo.

Moon Harbour’s much loved Inhouse series is back with another bumper edition of beats. The second third of the compilation is taken care of firstly by German studio wizard SmashTV, who sinks you deep into his warm and late-night house cut ‘Destruction’ which has perfectly seductive vocals catching your attention. Vangelis Kostoxenakis’ ‘I Think You’re Freaky’ ups the ante with a driving bass and drums combo that comes with haunting pads and metallic hits that are designed to make a big impact in the club. The Ibiza based Miane follows up her excellent Control EP on the label with another big track, ‘Put It In Motion’ that has a turbocharged bassline and classic vocal samples that are set to become anthemic once more this summer.

Smash TV - Destruction

German house masters Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora have announced that they will be releasing the third volume in the 'It Began In Africa' compilation series on Kittball Records. For this, the label have teamed up with "The African Children's Choir", licensed their music and organised a selection of producers to remix them whilst contributing their royalties to the choir. The money will provide shelter, education and a new home for African children in need.

The first two compilations generated over 15,000 Euros which were used to support the choir and its social projects. The funds enabled the building of nurseries and schools to help children get away from life in the streets and this new edition includes tracks from Dario D'Attis, Flashmob, Josh Butler, Mat.Joe, Magdalena, Riva Starr, Walker & Royce and many more.

This is a deep and afro-tinged selection of house tracks that take us back to the roots of rhythm, embalming the earthy grooves with all manner of melodies, tribal percussive patterns, cosmic signifiers and more in between.

Born in Hungary, Gabor Nemethy AKA Snilloc started DJing at the tender age of 18, and eventually made his way through with a combination of hard work and unceasing enthusiasm. When he started working together with Behnam in 2002, a whole new creative world opened up, and they soon got the chance to prove their talent to a broader audience. They visited the best clubs from London to Tokyo, leaving quite an impression wherever they played. Their works as Collins & Behnam found favour with well-known labels such as Global Underground, Intec, Noir Music, Recycled Loops, Yoshitoshi, Suara and more.
Snilloc started working solo, and then as part of the production duo CrossNineTroll with Nigel Snorter in 2011. Tracks from Snilloc’s first release, Lines EP on Monique Speciale, became underground club hits, and were played regularly by the likes of Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Seth Troxler, etc. Gabor’s second EP “Hazy Shade” was released on Metroline Limited in 2012 and received great support from Steve Lawler, Andrea Oliva, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann, Okain, etc. Particularly Carola was interested in Snilloc, and was soon playing his remix of Smoke Sykes’s track “Elisabeth” in his sets for over six months. Snilloc’s talent was soon recognized in Ibiza, and Amnesia’s resident, Mar-T, asked him to release for his seminal Wow! Recordings imprint together with the remixes by AFFKT and Mar-T himself. By the end of the summer, Snilloc was already working with Paul Ritch’s Quartz Rec, under which he released the “Black Boutique” EP together with an expert remix by the Italian producer, Leon. The prime track from this EP called “RatCat” was played a lot by Matthias Tanzmann, Nick Curly, Lee Burridge, Marco Carola and lots of others. Snilloc’s next remix was made for East End Dubs on Metroline Limited in 2013, and was included in tracklists of like Nick Curly, Audiojack, Karmon, Tapesh, etc.
