Celebrating their second album, South London supergroup Decius serve an hour of distorted club and mantra like lyrics in their mix for Bleep. Their brooding, idiosyncratic take on acid house evokes the underground mystique of EBM, its punkish tendencies alight in the drum machines, sultry acid stabs, and breathy vocals all over tracks from Decius Vol. II (Splendour & Obedience), their Decius Trax EPs, and unreleased gems. Early highlight ‘Ghent’ is full of morphing acid basslines and liquid synths matching the steamy performances, while elsewhere throbbing layers of electronics are dedicated to rhythmic expressions.

In Decius’ words: “'As with all our DJ sets, this mix consists exclusively of Decius music. We are not narcissists, we just love playing what we've made. It also means our sets contain some stuff that won't be heard anywhere else, as we don't release everything we play. Keep things spicy...!”

Weaving together these sonic inspirations from Midwest, this mix aims to reflect the rich tapestry of many different pockets of house music, rooted in Queer, Black and Latinx artistry and resilience. It’s dedicated to everyone who has never felt like they belonged, and found a home in house culture. The dance floor is a healing place.
