I was visiting my Mother over the holidays and stumbled upon another old picture from my early childhood. If you have ever listened to any of my earlier Gospel House sets you've heard me mention my maternal Grandmother. Well here's a pic of us about to board my very first flight to head down south from Detroit to visit her siblings in TN when I was maybe 2 years old. This mix is a slight departure from my norm. The first song in the set "I Get Moody Sometimes" by the late great Amp Fidler (A musical legend from my hometown of Detroit) definitely sets the tone. The song is slow and funky and features another Detroit icon "Moodyman." This musical mood might require a nice candle light, a smooth beverage and a really cool space. I am still inspired from my New York trip as I had a couple of these songs playing in my headphones as a traveled around town last December. "Full Moon" by Mr. Fingers was definitely one of them and it stayed on repeat that weekend. (Woooo) I started to pick up the pace and get a little Soulful towards the end and I will for sure pick that vibe back up on my next mix, but in the meantime I hope you guys Enjoy!!!

I was thinking about the time I first heard the name Luther Vandross. It was probably 1981 or so, although I would later find out that Luther had begun his musical career in the 1970's, providing backup vocals for any and everyone. My Mother had lots of records that I would later discover LV sang backup on. But it was an album by the group "Change" that I bought in the early 80's when I first fell in love with DJing, when I flipped over the record and read that Mr. Vandross was the lead singer on my two favorite songs in this now Disco Classic album: "Searching" and my favorite "The Glow of Love" which will be featured in this mix. This set features some of Luther's biggest hits as well as some of his lesser known songs but it's going to be fun. I'm not really sure what's been bringing me back to this Luther vibe that I've been feeling lately but I'm really diggin' it... Enjoy!!!

It's really a trip how organic a DJ Mix can come together. I have been waiting to repackage and rerelease my old "Jill Scott Mix" from nearly 10 years ago. Jill Scott (The Remixes) "Chapter Two"

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
