London based DJ& producer, Hommel, aka Tom North, is a man who knows his way around the club scene on the south coast, having been a resident at the now-closed Junk in Southampton for 3 years. He's clearly using that club experience to great effect on his contribution to the VA - "Beads". This one has absolutely expertly crafted, pitched and chopped breaks, with plenty of beautiful crystalline synths and swamping bass. You'll be glad to hear, that it's probably not the last you'll hear from tom on Noctambulant.

PREMIERE: Hommel - Beads (Dub Mix) [Noctambulant Sound Records]

For the 17th instalment of the ever expanding NS Mix Series, we’re proud to welcome [spoiler alert] newest NS Records recruit, @indentsound. The London based producer and hard-hitting Bristol sub maestro has been producing for 7 years and DJ'ing for even longer, rolling onto the commercial release scene with @holdinghandsrecords earlier in the year. Indent received deserved recognition when @desertsoundcolony picked him for a two-track digi EP; Brad submitted his track 'Falling' to a live remix session on YouTube by the head honcho himself, and whilst originally not intending to release commercially, the concept ended up being too strong not to 💿

In this mix, Brad brings us 45 minutes of mind bending blends and bangers, including local belters from @waltonmcr, @korzi_uk / @hedchef and @zenkerbrothers. When you’re done shivering in your local beer garden, pop these heavy hitters on for a nice ol’ reminisce of that 2am peak; hang in there, June’s just round the corner 🛸

Live after Roland is a 7 track album produced by Maurice Anthony Moran and released independently via Bandcamp.

The album aims to highlight and tackle existing genre conventions within electro and close sub-genres, most notably the use of vintage drum machines.

A wide variety of styles and drum timbres are present throughout the album to further showcase ways in which conventions can be broken.

From a technical perspective, Maurice chose to utilize less orthodox means of drum synthesis from Max/MSP to Physical Modelling.

Retro, the fifth track of the album, is a bass-heavy cross of electro and IDM, with a heavy focus on realistic percussive elements, produced using primarily physical modelling synthesis.

Echofront is an album that lives in the tension between shadow and radiance, between the ruins of memory and the pulse of the present. The songs unfold as fragments - half-dreamt images of stone, glass, fire, rivers, and neon - stitched into the rhythm of melodic techno. These lyrics trace the outlines of spaces where silence gathers force: cathedrals crumbling under rain, tunnels painted with defiance, rivers carrying ancestral masks, and cities burning into light. Each track is an echo carried forward, a resonance that reveals both fragility and persistence, where every fracture or stain also hints at renewal. The music embraces this ambiguity, weaving deep beats with textures that shimmer, fracture, and reform, as if sound itself were both memory and prophecy.

At the heart of the album is the idea of the echo not as repetition, but as transformation. Echoes blur time, bending it into seams where identity slips, boundaries dissolve, and breath becomes dream. Echofront steps into those seams, letting voices fade and return in altered forms, letting rhythms erode and rebuild, letting light refract into the darkness. The music is neither nostalgic nor utopian, but rather a navigation of thresholds - of endings that carry within them the charge of beginnings, of masks that reveal by concealing, of serpents that coil both danger and desire. In this way, the album moves like a front advancing across shifting terrain: charged with energy, haunted by silence, and always carrying the possibility of becoming something new.
