Faster But Slower, aka the Fall 2013 mix by DJ Starsign finds the man going back to basics; selecting vinyl, creating a new & unique work from existing recordings, and capturing the performance live.

This mix was recorded in one take. The only equipment used was 2 Technics turntables, a Rane 2-channel mixer, a Kaoss effects pad, Shure needles, and Sony headphones. No laptops, wav files, dj software, cds. This was intended to take it back to the analogue way of doing things, capturing the warmth and magic of sounds recorded onto pieces of wax.

The mix, clocking in at nearly 2 hours, is an intersection of various types of beats from downtempo, to balearic, cosmic, disco, deep house, beardo, and assorted grooves designed for the adventurous listener. A bit of everything is thrown in the pot, from original productions, to remixes, to re-edits, new to classic, sun-kissed to atmospheric, mellow to frenetic, sleazy to sophisticated, from organic swampy stompers for jungle dwellers to electronic sound architecture for spaceship passengers. This is open format eclecticism for those who want something a bit out of the ordinary.
