Astral became addicted to Trance at a Vision Quest party in Yokohama, Japan in the 90's where Hallucinogen (Simon Posford) and German DJ Jorg forged a life long impression. A veteran of the Trance and Progressive scene in New Zealand and Australia, since 2001 Astral has performed at events and club nights such as Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Slinky, MASIF, Summerdayze, Ministry of Sound, Lagered, Renaissance and Global Underground. Alongside Sam Hill he headlined Auckland’s famous CHEMISTRY, playing progressive and uplifting trance sets from its inception in 2001 until the final events in 2010. During this time he also hosted a Friday night dance music radio show. In 2011 he moved to Sydney and became a trance resident at Hard Dance legend Steve Hills' weekly 'MASIF' club night before moving to Melbourne, Beijing and now Munich. 
He has played support sets for some of the biggest names in global dance music, sharing the booth with the likes of Richard Durand, Showtek, Above and Beyond, Roger Shah, Dark by Design, Simon Patterson, Dave Seaman, John 00 Fleming, Ferry Corsten, Sean Tyas, Scot Project, Uberdruck, M.I.K.E. Push,  W & W, Marco V, Lisa Lashes, Darren Emerson, Infusion, Rank 1, John O'Callaghan, Steve Hill, Desyn Masiello, Jordan Suckley, Judge Jules, Lange and more..

He is known for hypnotic Progressive and Melodic Techno sets as well as for playing peak time Trance.

For over 20 years, Steve Hill has been dedicated to the Harder Styles movement. In that time he has become one of the biggest selling acts in Hard Dance….worldwide! Having amassed over 500 productions in his discography, notching up appearances on nearly one million physical singles sales and over two million compilation units, the aptly nicknamed “pint sized juggernaut”, head honcho of The Masif Organisation, and co-owner of the internationally acclaimed Masif nightclub in Sydney, Australia, he is certainly a force in the Harder Styles scene.

Production credits for Hill include 5 UK Top 40 remixes, 4 singles in the UK Top 75 plus he co-penned the hit performed by Example “All The Wrong Places” which went to #12 in the UK charts in 2013. He has remixed everyone from Kylie Minogue to Lock’n’Load to Art Of Trance to Signum; while also collaborating with some of the scenes biggest names including BK, Technikal, Rob Tissera, Dark By Design, Alex Kidd, Organ Donors, Francesco Zeta, Luca Antolini, Activator, Guyver and many more.

Alongside his studio work, DJing has been a main focus for Steve. In the past 20 years he has performed over 2,000 shows in more than 50 cities globally, having visited more than 15 countries along the way. With tours each year regularly including Australia, New Zealand, UK, Italy, South Korea, Japan, South Africa and Canada, Hill lives up to his name, the “King of Euphoric Hard Dance” wherever he goes.

Steve Hill has performed on many of the globes biggest stages including Defqon 1 Festival, Qlimax, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival, Stereosonic, Knockout Outdoor and Dance Valley as well as for club brands including Frantic, God’s Kitchen, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Tidy, Transmission, Goodgreef, HQ, Hard Kandy, PHD, HSU events amongst many others. As a promoter, Steve is not only involved being behind Masif events around the globe, and the weekly Masif club in Sydney, he also helps with other one off events such as the annual London Hard House Reunion in New Zealand.

With three successful and critically acclaimed artist albums under his belt, “My Past, Your Present, Our Future” (2005), “Hard Trance is My Life” (2010), and “#mdma (Masif Dance Music Anthems)” (2016); Steve Hill also has released a Limited Edition collectors USB encompassing all of his productions. His fourth studio album "R8TR0" comes out in late 2023.
