Danish-Chinese pianist Sine Winther is a  soloist and chamber musician based in Melbourne. Originally from Brisbane, she was born into a a family of pianists and began learning from her parents from age 5. Performing became a natural part of her childhood, playing in the family house concert series ‘Piano Viva’ held every month.

Now 24 years old, Sine currently enjoys a busy schedule performing solo and chamber music at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), where she is mentored by Timothy Young. Previously, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Advanced Performance studying under Leah Horwitz OAM and Natasha Vlassenko at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Performance highlights include performing Beethoven's C Minor Piano Concerto with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (ANAM Concerto Competition Finals 2018), giving her UK debut at the Dartington International Festival and Summer School, being a finalist in the 3MBS 'The Talent' Competition, and collaborating with international guest artists and fellow musicians at ANAM. She has also appeared as a concerto soloist with the Queensland Philharmonia, Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra 21, performed at the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition semi-finals, the Australian Showcase at the Sydney International Piano Competition, and won 1st Place at the Queensland Piano Competition. She has also received masterclasses from internationally acclaimed artists including Pascal Roge, Kathryn Stott, Stephen Osborne, Angela Hewitt, Roy Howat, Joanna MacGregor, and Piers Lane. When she’s not sitting at the piano, Sine enjoys cooking, visiting art exhibitions, walking in nature, and patting dogs.
