Biography:	
Owner and founder of Pressed Records, ʻMedisonʼ was first snapped up by UK imprint Dented Records following credits alongside Plan B, Skrein.

Crossing the boundaries between the UK Grime/Rap movement, the forward thinking producer achieved global notoriety in 2010 with his first official release for Dented. ʻHarryʼ featuring label mate Skrein was an instant hit across the globe, backed up by remixes from chart topper Plan B, Ruckspin and in particular ʻBareNoizeʼ. With two stints at number 1 in the Chemical Records Dubstep Charts, the track was play-listed on BBC Radio 1, Kiss and Rinse FM, and gained support worldwide from every DJ worth mentioning, such as Skrillex, Chase & Status, Skism, Bar 9, Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Excision and many more. This EP could be considered one of the first to mesh UK Hip Hop and Dubstep to worldwide acclaim.

2011 showcased Medison on a collaborative EP working alongside Award winning producer Skrillex, Alix Perez, Black Sun Empire and Lazer Sword for ʻForeign Beggarsʼ debut EP on Never Say Die Records, ʻThe Harder They Fall EPʼ.

Steadily building his reputation for collaborating with some of the hottest names on the circuit and having remixed the Foreign Beggars single ʻFlying to Marsʼ (featured on ʻThe Uprisingʼ album for Deadmau5ʼs imprint ʻMau5trap recordsʼ), ʻMedisonʼ has continued to gain worldwide support from the likes of Skream & Benga (BBCRadio1), Nihal (BBC 1Xtra) and also features from Youngsta and Icicleʼs Rinse Fm radio shows.

After founding ʻPressed Recordsʼ in 2012, with a focus on long-term development for his artists and their music, ʻMedisonʼ continues to cross boundaries within deep electronic Bass music and UK Grime to a worldwide audience, with his forthcoming release ʻSpaceʼ featuring Marger and Foreign Beggars. With the track already playlisted on BBC Radio 1, Radio 1xtra and Rinse FM this talented artistʼs future is set to extremely promising.

As an International DJ, Medison has performed 3 times at the Croatian festival ʻOutlook festivalʼ, was resident at Vagabondz UK club nights in its early stages across the UK and has also toured with Monster Energy across Europe in 2012.
He has also performed alongside powerhouses such as Plastician, Foreign Beggars, Digital Mystikz, Icicle, Alix Perez, Virus Syndicate, Bar 9, Brookes Brothers, Gentlemens Dub Club and many more.

Gentlemen Callers play a mixture of post-punk and hardcore punk. Their intention is anti-escapist, with their sound privileging anxiety over fun. The band formed in Grahamstown in early 2012 out of a sense of disappointment with what they considered to be a largely thoughtless national music scene.

Interested in the Shamanic potential of music, they combine paradoxically dense and primitive rhythms with lyrical concerns ranging from reincarnation and drug use to the rise of the sociopath in contemporary society. They like to describe themselves as neurotic astronauts stuck on an inhospitable world. They are in the process of releasing three EPs over a three month period. Their first EP, ‘An Introduction to Metaphysics’ is now available (with digital booklet) for free download. 

The three EPs were recorded on reel-to-reel tape in Grahamstown by friend of the band and producer Matt Sabine. The band decided to record all instruments simultaneously ('live') with appropriate overdubs in post-production. The decision to record in this fashion, as well the use of vintage equipment, came from a desire to experiment with non-digital techniques in order to capture an aesthetic at odds with much in the contemporary landscape.

Gentlemen Callers will stagger their EP trilogy over the next three months. The three EPs, four tracks on each, will each contain a selection of songs relating to their relevant title/concept.

Combining a sophisticated groove with an arcane core and manipulating sounds to the highest quality, Octane & DLR truly shook the drum & bass community in 2011, culminating appearances at Fabric in London, Star Warz in Belgium, to Outlook Festival in Croatia and a remarkable Australia / New Zealand tour. With an innate ability to apply an effortless funk to a purely technical undercurrent, 2011 saw them produce some of the dancefloor’s most unique creations, such as the callously percussive ‘Mainframe’ and the casually sinister ‘Red Mist’. The pair have consistently advanced their distinctive sound, to the escalating lure of listeners, labels and promoters worldwide. 

Their reputation for superb technical production led to the highly successful Drum & Bass Rollers sample pack for Loopmasters. Providing an array of bass textures and various drum hits and synths, this has enabled aspiring producers across the globe the chance to manipulate and adapt the much sought after Octane & DLR sound to their own specifications. In the coming months, they will also release 64 Patches for Native Instruments new FM8 project, offering an essential production tool to further inspire up and coming talent.

2012 is shaping up to be an astounding year for the duo and their demand has been met by endorsement from respected companies such as Magma DJ Bags, Serato, Tool Room Publishing and THTC. Forthcoming release material includes remix work for Horizons, including Amoss’ ceaseless roller ‘Footloose’, Gerra & Stone’s irrefutable ‘Dronehead’ for Alignment, alongside further releases on Ram Records and Symmetry. This is all preceded by their highly anticipated debut album, appearing on Dispatch Recordings in Early Summer. The project is set to be a true masterpiece of natural soundscapes, dark and twisting bass-forms and cinematic interludes, featuring collaborations with Break, Cern and EBK, With Outlook Festival confirmed and Album Tour information now being drafted up, Octane & DLR are set to take the scene by storm in 2012.
