While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

Paskal & Urban Absolutes are celebrating the release of their debut album „LUX“ (released in november 2013) with a big bash, encompassing two special remix packages (vinyl and digital) and with an illustrious group of liked minded peers. Same as with their own work credo of cross-city collaborating (Paskal aka Alex lives in Berlin, Urban Absolutes aka Adrian lives in Essen) the twosome assembled half of Germany for the first, now available 12inch of the Lux remixes.

They take us from Berlin via Leipzig down to Essen and Dortmund and from there to Düsseldorf and Cologne. One of the album's standout tracks, “Take The Fall” featuring the guest vocals by Pete Josef from Bristol, has gone under the knife all in all four times. The outcomes couldn't be more diverse: Manuel Tur, the Essen based eminent deep house authority, operates yet again most meticulously and precisely to produce a true grace of a dancefloor sure shot as if by magic.  As a little surprise an infinitely meandering 303 acid bassline sets in in the second half of the track for sheer delight.

Sevensol & Bender, two of the founders of Leipzig based quality techno imprint Kann Records, don't apply less effort either and chop the track to its pieces. Without further ado the track's vocals fall by the wayside, only dare to surface muffled in a setting that couldn't be more contemporary and more today. This is German handcraft at upmost grade.

The contribution from Düsseldorf, from Sello who is just taking off these days, uses a similar technique and is free floating in the nowhere land between soulful deep house and sinister Detroit techno. A highly explosive concoction like a seven minute long coitus interrupts maintaining the tension til the redeeming finale.

The fourth mix of the bunch is by Berlin's old hand Oliver Marquardt. The man with the thousand monikers and masks (DJ Jauche, Jack Flash, Rockford Inc. and the here deployed Robin Masters Orchestra) proves for the umpteenth time why he still is regarded as one of the most sought-after remixers of a scene you can't really put a finger on. The way he drastically rearranges “Take The Fall”, how he layers vocals over vocals, incorporates a break here and there and adds extra drums to the mix is simply breathtaking. In short, orchestral!

The Paskal & Urban Absolutes party continues with two remixes for “Here Again” – another hit off the album. The former Sonar Kollektiv warhorses Trickski seem to  almost have been waiting for this assignment. The sound the Berlin based duo has been sported to perfection on their last few releases on labels like Delusions Of Grandeur and SUOL is being refined even further with this top-notch remix. This is full throttle peaktime club music with an aesthetics that will be style-defining in 2014.

And since we are making these superlative comparisons we can easily tag the remix by Henry L & Ingo Sänger (from Cologne and Dortmund) as the next blueprint of how the updated version of Chicago house has to sound like this season. Of course the awe-inspiring voice of Jazzanova singer Paul Randolph helps enormously to raise the already regal original to unexpected heights. To tell the truth, a high you don't wanna come down again from. 

That's what the second release in the Lux remixes series will most definitely cater for. Stay tuned!

Unblock boss Tuccillo returns to Roush this January as the Spanish imprint drops his ‘People Around’ EP, with four fresh cuts set to make an instant impact in the New Year.
A key figure within house music for the past 20 years, Tuccillo’s inimitable blend of infectious grooves and stripped back melodies continually see him setting the benchmark within the genres ever-evolving landscape. With stand out releases on the likes of Holic Trax, Visionquest, Djebali, and his own Unblock Records amongst others, and performances at fabric, Space Ibiza and DC-10, the Italian has unquestionably cemented his status as one of the leading names in the game. Here we see the arrival of ‘People Around’, a 4 track EP that has already caught the attention of many via 12”, and looks set to do so further following it’s release into the digital world.
Up first is title cut ‘People Around’, a swing fuelled and energetic production that smoothly combines intricate percussion patterns and snaking hooks, before introducing the groove laden ‘Bayou’, with its hypnotic vocals and bumping low ends taking the EP and listeners deep into the after hours.
On the flip, ‘In The Mood’ brings a serious slab of funk, as rave tinged synths float amongst classic vox shots and a heady bassline, before the classy ‘Melo Melo Garden’ punctuates the EP as silky chords merge with crisp drum licks to unveil a deep and stripped back gem that’s sure to be a favourite of many.

Those of you that have been following my work over the past years know that I am big fan of the art of editing, both, digging for and playing the edits of others and manufacturing them myself. Besides the many ones that have been released officially I made countless ones in the past years just to enhance my sets. Doing edits is simply a lot of fun, its a similar approach to remixing but yet different. There are no limits, from just editing tracks (in the literal sense) to make them longer (or shorter), DJ friendlier, or mash an instrumental of one track together with an acapella from another one to building up a complete new production and arrangement around an acapella or an instrumental, there are no limits to re-interpret the respected work of others. Today I decided to start sharing these works with you. I start today out with an edit that uses the elements of Kraftwerk’s “It’s More Fun To Compute“ and the vocals of Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force’s “Planet Rock” and put them over a rocking Electro beat. Pan-Pot’s busy touring schedule over the Summer no doubt inspired their upcoming 12” ‘Captain My Captain’. Having performed for countless festivals and main-stage crowds, their new tracks put forth glacial soundscapes so epic they could sink the Titanic.

If it's possible to say this, title track 'Captain My Captain' is actually the more restrained and studied of the three - featuring vocals written and recorded by Los Angeles based studio vocalist and label freund Cari Golden, who also wrote and performed the vocals on Anja Schneider's recent release for the Hi Five! mobilee compilation 'Something Left'.

Meanwhile, 'Black Horse Down' and 'Bad Photocopy' have everything a true Pan-Pot fan could ever wish for - think dark and heavy, builds and drops, synths and loops - true four a.m. grit to get your hands in the air and keep you raving until dawn!

In today’s electronic music world there are not many artists who can lay claim to a legacy like that of DJ T. Born in Dusseldorf, DJ T. (aka Thomas Koch,) re-located to Frankfurt with his family in the late 70s. During his formative years, he fell for the hypnotic grooves of disco, inspired by his parents’ record collec-tion. At the age of nine he was already completely enraptured by music and that love affair continues until this very day. He began an obsessive quest to collect music, feeding his soul with everything from Disco and Hi-Nrg, through to early Hip-Hop and Electro, Soul, Funk and R’n’B. The groovy, infectious rhythms of all those genres continue to permeate into the music he makes and plays today, providing an intrinsic part of his sound ethic. 
He took up breakdancing, before becoming a DJ, playing at private parties ini-tially before landing his first professional gigs in the late eighties. This period proved to be a pivotal moment in his life as Acid House swept through Europe, landing in Frankfurt and taking over with the launch of Sven Väth’s legendary Omen club in 1988. The first wave of House and Techno took hold and T. was there at the forefront, absorbing all the fresh new sounds from Chicago, Detroit and the UK. He picked up a residency at the infamous Music Hall and held resi-dencies at countless clubs across the city during the next 10 years from Plastik and Dorian Gray to The Box. By the end of the nineties, he was one of Frank-furt’s best-known selectors. 
In 1989 DJ T. tapped into another side of his creative energy to set up Groove Magazine. Identifying a gap in the market and fuelled by a need to satisfy his own desire for specialised music journalism, which focused on his interests – namely underground dance music. Under his leadership the magazine was launched into the public’s consciousness and he guided Groove to become one of Europe’s premier dance music publications, which it still is today. 
DJ T.’s progression continued at a pace, as he launched his own club, Monza, using the experience gained through a decade of club events and tours under the Groove Magazine banner. He also invested his skills and knowledge into con-ceiving Get Physical – a label, which remains one of the world’s best- known House and Techno platforms. Though he left in 2010, T. still occasionally A&Rs for the label, lending his uncanny ability to uncover new talent to the seminal label. 
Production-wise, he has been consistent ever since his debut release, the ‘Mon-sterbaze’ EP with Steve Bug, which was released on Poker Flat in 2000. Since then, T. has released several well-received EPs, a slew of remixes and three al-bums, ‘Boogie Playground’ in 2005, ‘The Inner Jukebox’ produced with Tho-mas Schumacher in 2009 and ‘Pleasure Principle’ in 2011. His special touch has also been employed by numerous labels to curate compilation mixes , including ‘United Under The Ball – 30 Years Of Disco’ in 2011 and ‘The House That Jack Built Vol 1 & 2’ in 2012. In 2013 he celebrated 25 years of DJing with a very personal mix compilation, followed also by ‘Body Language 15’ and col-laboration with Defected and Strictly Rhythm to celebrate the latter’s 25th anni-versary. DJ T.’s reputation for being a master selector has been cemented by these superlative collections of music, each of which has received widespread praise, often featuring many of T.’s own edits of classic tracks. 
Despite so many accolades, his passion for music remains staunch, recently making several key changes to his professional life that have inspired him to explore new terrains. With hot new releases on AUS Music, Moon Harbour, True Soul and Jackathon representing his continued to desire to push his crea-tive boundaries. 
A highly-skilled DJ and producer and an A&R with an uncanny ability to dis-cover a nurture new talent, DJ T. is a master selector and one of the industry’s most influential figures.
