We are honored here at Musicis4Lovers.com to be able to host the new remix from Nu and Acid Pauli of Daniel Bortz's beautiful composition, "The Misery feat. Nils Corssen". 

Daniel Bortz isn't a big fan of reckless experiments. A fact that makes this new release even more remarkable: he's breaking his own rule of not having his own tracks remixed.

Needless to say, he didn't just pick anyone to get this job done. His choice fell on some highly esteemed friends and colleagues, resulting in a quite remarkable package.

Acid Pauli and Nu give us their interpretation of “The Misery”, using Nils Corssen´s voice as a hook lead element, never losing the melancholy vibe of the original and still putting it into a rather dancefloor-compatible context.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Welcome to the wonderful world of JOBE, a dynamic and driven deep house / techno artist with a firm grasp on mood and motion. The Anjunadeep Edition 198 with Dosem

In the digital age, the compilation has lost much of it’s former glory. Not too long ago it was an indespensable format for the music-lover. Was it brilliantly compiled and telling a special story, the compilation was a significant gain as a particularly successful artist album. 

In recent times, the compilation has been cheapened with generic ’Ibiza’ and ’Miami’ labelling as the genre compilation all but dissapeared from the scene. 

This brought DJ T. to an idea, to create an homage to this nearly extinct format. As vol. 1 of the project is supposed to be a highly visible counterpoint to the ubiquitous, mostly House and Techno-stocked season sets and theme compilations, his choice fell on Disco; one of the oldest species in club music. Disco is currently experiencing a sort of rennaissance, with many young, and until recently, completely unknown artists and labels carrying the heritage on by working with new and contemporary definitions. 

Naturally limited by the selection of works available digitally, DJ T. chose a very personal array of 43 tracks to give the connoisseur an overview of the newest branches in the Disco-tree and to cover as many diverse genres the last three decades have seen. 

As the ’cherry on top’, the compilation contains a handfull of exclusive and unreleased tracks, including two new edits of the old DJ T. classics ’Philly’ &amp; ’Funk On You’. Catz ’N Dogz appear with a remix of ’Dis’, the big hit of his second album. DJ T. also put his hands on one of his favourite classics ’Around The House’, one of the early works of the Hamburg-Disco-King Tensnake. In addition there are two unreleased tracks from the two mexican artists Robbie Akabal &amp; Muan and Damian Uzabiaga.

Dan describes the vision behind the melodic arrangement: “It’s all about hand played synth parts, twisted melodic riffs and a hypnotic yet groovy bassline.”

And finally we find Adam Port on B2, pursuing his knack for lost African treasures. Once again he finds the source material in an old traditional by Quim Manuel O Espirito Santo. Port's edit of "Eme Lelu" seeks to update the original in some of the rhythmic patterns and create a whole new dramaturgic, floor tweaked build up, yet he leaves the original's cheer- and playful nature untouched. Cheers to Analog Africa for providing the original composition.

Veerus makes his Drumcode debut, after an impressive contribution to Truesoul’s VA EP in 2017.

The Italian has built up an impressive discography over the last decade, dropping records on labels including Terminal M, Octopus, Filth on Acid and his own Le Club imprint. His collaborative with Maxie Devine ‘My Train’ was a highlight of Solomun’s classic Boiler Room in Tulum, which has clocked 37 million views. In late 2017 he linked up with Brits OC & Verde for the fantastic ‘Naaki’ that featured on Truesoul’s first Various Artists EP, ensuring he was an artist well and truly in Adam Beyer’s sights. 

His maiden outing for Drumcode mines 20 years of history, taking inspiration from classic trance and acid from the ‘90s, which he distils to create powerful modern techno works. ‘Hypnosis’ was a huge highlight of Beyer’s Awakenings show at Gashouder during ADE. It’s characterised by an engrossing call-and-response dynamic Veerus builds between the 303 acid warbles and the melodic stabs that run throughout. A track custom made for big moments.  ‘Apocalypse’, like its name, is more menacing. Veerus constructs the work to mimic the dramatic theatre of a gladiatorial scene in a film, as heart-fluttering chord progressions, a piercing synth line and dystopian melody mark this memorable track.

Originally released as part of Panthera Krause's album It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You at the end of last year, two new approaches of his take Road To Arcadia are about to be released as part of Robert's, Panthera Krause's real name, next single on Riotvan. While the artist contributes a club version of Road To Arcadia himself, Copenhagener Kasper Bjørke is responsible for the second track of the single release and turns it into a hauntingly disco rework which has as much energy as Donna Summer's I Feel Love In other words Bjørke's Disco Rework simply is a continuous groover, which develops the latter due to the implementation of additional sounds throughout the track or a change of the chords right up to incorporating a so called glitch in the last part of the track.

Dark, hypnotic disco grooves are the order of the day on this EP from Tiempo de Maldad. The Original centres around a throbbing, pulsing synth bassline atop which a range of other synth sounds from the musical to the metallic vie for your attention. Azaria's remix beefs up the kicks and has a proggy feel, Aleito's adds a hefty dose of space/sci-fi sounds, Daniel Monaco's more angular, aggressive rub will suit the indie-dance floors (it'd be a dead cert at Nag Nag Nag if that was still going!) while finally the Lusca Remix is a heavy-duty Italo pounder, aimed at dark 3am floors and augmented by some acid squelch.

Off the back of their hot success from their previous EP Dominator, esteemed Bavarian producer Kalipo and the renowned Greco-German duo Local Suicide continue their pioneering collaboration by bringing us another impressive EP; turning them into something of a force to be reckoned with. After promising a year full of new material and intriguing remixes, the Berlin-based artists have done nothing but deliver a trail-blazing collaboration.

Releasing music conceived and designed for the club, Hold Your Ground, the subla- bel to Audiolith, has nurtured the perfect storm for the fusion between Kalipo’s hypnotic and Local Suicide’s post-disco approach to the techno sound. With striking synths that cover a spectrum of notes and bringing back those distinct and seductive vocals that remind us of Dominator, their collaboration on both Wunderbar and Zig Zag manages to cleverly sync both their styles of production together and demonstrate their take on the new-wave, EBM movement.

The remixes that feature as part of this EP are outstanding, showing the complex and varied interpretations of the Kalipo x Local Suicide sound. Italo Brutalo’s remix of Wunderbar manages to manipulate the track into a trancey version of itself, editing the vocals into a computer-generated style and adding the rolling drum pat- terns to create suspense. Mufti’s approach is to emphasise that stomping kick drum, all while layering the different tone vocals over each other to turn the track into a murkier rendition of itself.

T.M.A.’s method for Zig Zag is a whole transformation from its previous identity. Keeping the vocals so they only appear during the climax of the track, speeding up the BPM and adding in those notorious offbeat kicks really exemplifies what T.M.A is known for; producing atmospheric and progressive beats. Last but not least we have Back From The Wave’s take on Zig Zag. Its paralyzing approach to the melody and overwhelming timbre resonates throughout, leaving you overcome with emotion.

Wunderbar is truly an EP that takes centre-stage, possessing the power to transport you to a place you may have never been before. With different styles and influences making their mark on these tracks, Local Suicide and Kalipo’s versatility proves to be inspirational and attractive to all that encounter them.

In today’s electronic music world there are not many artists who can lay claim to a legacy like that of DJ T. Born in Dusseldorf, DJ T. (aka Thomas Koch,) re-located to Frankfurt with his family in the late 70s. During his formative years, he fell for the hypnotic grooves of disco, inspired by his parents’ record collec-tion. At the age of nine he was already completely enraptured by music and that love affair continues until this very day. He began an obsessive quest to collect music, feeding his soul with everything from Disco and Hi-Nrg, through to early Hip-Hop and Electro, Soul, Funk and R’n’B. The groovy, infectious rhythms of all those genres continue to permeate into the music he makes and plays today, providing an intrinsic part of his sound ethic. 
He took up breakdancing, before becoming a DJ, playing at private parties ini-tially before landing his first professional gigs in the late eighties. This period proved to be a pivotal moment in his life as Acid House swept through Europe, landing in Frankfurt and taking over with the launch of Sven Väth’s legendary Omen club in 1988. The first wave of House and Techno took hold and T. was there at the forefront, absorbing all the fresh new sounds from Chicago, Detroit and the UK. He picked up a residency at the infamous Music Hall and held resi-dencies at countless clubs across the city during the next 10 years from Plastik and Dorian Gray to The Box. By the end of the nineties, he was one of Frank-furt’s best-known selectors. 
In 1989 DJ T. tapped into another side of his creative energy to set up Groove Magazine. Identifying a gap in the market and fuelled by a need to satisfy his own desire for specialised music journalism, which focused on his interests – namely underground dance music. Under his leadership the magazine was launched into the public’s consciousness and he guided Groove to become one of Europe’s premier dance music publications, which it still is today. 
DJ T.’s progression continued at a pace, as he launched his own club, Monza, using the experience gained through a decade of club events and tours under the Groove Magazine banner. He also invested his skills and knowledge into con-ceiving Get Physical – a label, which remains one of the world’s best- known House and Techno platforms. Though he left in 2010, T. still occasionally A&Rs for the label, lending his uncanny ability to uncover new talent to the seminal label. 
Production-wise, he has been consistent ever since his debut release, the ‘Mon-sterbaze’ EP with Steve Bug, which was released on Poker Flat in 2000. Since then, T. has released several well-received EPs, a slew of remixes and three al-bums, ‘Boogie Playground’ in 2005, ‘The Inner Jukebox’ produced with Tho-mas Schumacher in 2009 and ‘Pleasure Principle’ in 2011. His special touch has also been employed by numerous labels to curate compilation mixes , including ‘United Under The Ball – 30 Years Of Disco’ in 2011 and ‘The House That Jack Built Vol 1 & 2’ in 2012. In 2013 he celebrated 25 years of DJing with a very personal mix compilation, followed also by ‘Body Language 15’ and col-laboration with Defected and Strictly Rhythm to celebrate the latter’s 25th anni-versary. DJ T.’s reputation for being a master selector has been cemented by these superlative collections of music, each of which has received widespread praise, often featuring many of T.’s own edits of classic tracks. 
Despite so many accolades, his passion for music remains staunch, recently making several key changes to his professional life that have inspired him to explore new terrains. With hot new releases on AUS Music, Moon Harbour, True Soul and Jackathon representing his continued to desire to push his crea-tive boundaries. 
A highly-skilled DJ and producer and an A&R with an uncanny ability to dis-cover a nurture new talent, DJ T. is a master selector and one of the industry’s most influential figures.
