J.C. Tolson (DJT3) started in music at a young age making mixed tapes from the radio and editing out the commercials as a kid, when he got to middle school he joined the schools band and by high school could play every brass instrument there was. After landing a job as security at club La Vela started getting intrigued about being a professional Dj, during the teen nights that La Vela hosted he would stand in for Dj Kit Kat to give him breaks, after saving up enough money he bought his own equipment and began to try to get gigs. The first gig he landed was not only 4 months after buying his equipment, and that gig was at Boardwalk Beach Resort playing inside the Blue Moose Lounge and out back beach side for spring breakers. He then started throwing his own shows and parties inside the blue moose, and after seeing a pretty successful turnout met up with Vanessa Taylor (local promoter) and was introduced to C-level Bar and Grill, that opened up a plethora of opportunity with other Dj’s and contacts for gigs. After playing at C-level for over a year and seeing the movie Project X, had an idea to create a party just like the movie so Dj’s could play whatever they wanted, but as with anything that is successful it couldn't be done alone. He then invited Dj Link and Dj Beachouse resident Dj’s of Spinaker Beach Club and friend Dj Tadashi into the mix, and that would make up the core group for the Project X CREW as you know it today. Also joining the group Acevedo Photography (roommate and friend of DJT3) known for his creative nightlife style of photography. Together we all strive to put on a professional and high quality show.
