Radio Slave teams up with Michael Love Michael and returns to his roots with ‘Can’t Get You’ this July.

Radio Slave revisits Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, the track that originally launched his production career in 2001, with US-based writer, editor, and musician Michael Love Michael on vocals. “When I got the call that Pete Tong was going to play my re-edit of ‘Can’t Get You Of My Head’, I had to quickly invent a name for the project, literally on the spot just a few hours before Pete went live on BBC Radio One. On that night, the Radio Slave name was born. It was never officially released, but I did get a copy of the stems and was invited to sit in the studio with the writer Rob Davis for the making of the infamous ‘Blue Monday’ mashup, which Kylie would go onto perform at the Brit Awards in 2002. It was an exciting time in my career, and this song would be the beginning of a project that’s now over 20 years old” - Radio Slave

The refreshed packaged comes with a variety of club-ready mixes, paying homage to the origins of Matt Edwards’ longest running project while looking firmly into the future. Michael Love Michael’s enthralling vocal performance takes centre stage across the mixes, while variations in Radio Slave’s impeccable production inject undeniable groove and propulsive energy throughout. “I wanted to create a version of Kylie's euphoric original that was sinister and creepy, hinting at the song's obsessive refrain and lyrics. That directly inspired my vocal arrangement. I shared it with Larry Tee, a mentor and friend of mine, who sent it to Radio Slave, who was already working on his own remake.

In March this year COD3 QR delivered a digital threesome from DJ Deep, Avision and Deetron.  Now, twice as much is coming in June for the label's first vinyl-only release, with each artist bringing a second track to the platter.  As usual the tracks have been selected by Laurent Garnier for the label whose ethos is: Music diversity is our strength!

Fortunate to grow up around the rich club culture of NYC and influenced by the sounds around him, Avision started young on the turntables at the age of 12, gained his first residency at 15, and hasn't looked back since.  Around that time, he also began to hone his production skills and developed a distinctly New York-flavoured techno and house sound which is evident on "Hold No Groove" and "Talk Is Cheap".  It's the recognisable sound he's previously brought to the likes of Cocoon, Ellum, Drumcode and Hardgroove.  

Having been involved with making and playing music for over 20 years, Deetron is an artist who is assured in his ambitions and a skilled performer, maintaining a high level of quality in every aspect of his career: from mind-boggling three-deck DJ sets to his special touch on remixes or his diverse range of productions.  In 2014 he launched his own imprint, Character.  But has also graced the likes of Axis, Music Man, Subject Detroit, Running Back, Rekids and more.  Here he brings the original techno sound of "Pulse", alongside the deeper "Corazon".

DJ Deep got the party started on the digital version with "What's Going On".  It's now accompanied by the hypnotic "Transition".  So, it's no surprise to hear he started playing at clubs and raves in Paris in the late '80s / early '90s, including Laurent's renowned Wake Up at Rex.  The respected and versatile DJ, producer, label-boss and party curator is just at home helming the decks at major venues as well as mixing radio shows for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM.  As a producer his critically acclaimed appearances on Rekids, Kaoz Theory and Tresor, not to mention his own Deeply Rooted, have demonstrated his imaginative approach to house and techno.

Picture a Roaring 1920s debauched, excessive and riotous cocktail party with screaming brass moments meets 1970s funk and disco grooves that loop and tumble you into a hypnotic state while Barry White's voice guides you through the whole experience. After five was designed to make you feel sexy, groovy and a little bit wild. 

Already part of the Life and Death family since “Bey Beh” and “Dale Dale”, @lukealessiofficial ’s music sits in its own lane, refusing to be pigeonholed into any conventional genre. A frequent collaborator of Chloe Caillet, Carlita, Rüfus Du Sol, and many more established talents, 2024 has been a huge year for Alessi, with noticeable DJ debuts from Mexico to Asia via Europe and North America.

Boogie Vice, N-You-Up Feat. Mx Blouse drop an electric cover version of an iconic Jungle Brothers tune. 'I'll House You' is an enduring anthem that gets a fresh modern update plus three different mixes.

Boogie Vice hails from Paris, and since debuting a decade ago, he has lit up Beatport charts, combining fresh nu-disco and house styles in unique ways and has released on the likes of Busy P's Ed Banger Records, Amine Edge & DANCE's Cuff and Miguel Campbell's Outcross Records. He has previously released on this label alongside Sensual Sounds head honcho Deep Aztec but now works with South of Fracas star N-You-Up. He has been DJing since 1996, first as hip-house artist The Beatangers, but with this alias returns to his roots and blends jazz, funk and disco on labels like Nervous Records as well as Get Physical Music.

The Jungle Brothers dropped their legendary hip-house hit single 'I'll House You' in 1988, and it became an instant classic. Now, it has been reworked for contemporary floors in fine style.

This innovative rework keeps the original vocals, which are so full of sleazy attitude, but layers in a wonky melody line, slows the beats down and builds them into a funky and low-slung groove. Extra raw percussive hits and seductive synths all help make this a brilliant rework that, with the standout vocals, is sure to become anthemic in its own right.

After that comes a drumapella which beefs up the kicks as the original vocals remain in place up top. Then comes a Dub Mix, which is more paired back but with big bounce in the drums and only fragments of the vocal littering the mix next to the loopy groove. Finally, the Hope Street At Night mix is stripped right back to a shuffling and minimal groove with icy pads and late-night menace completely flipping the vibe.

It was in 2009 when Paride Saraceni envisioned his rework of the Doors' classic 'Light My Fire', a project which never came to life until 2015 when he decided to create a work that would not only translate the classic rock masterpiece into a postmodern dance-floor tune.
'Jim's Prophecy' is however not simply a rework of the Doors' classic hit but a seamless collage of several of their works as well as of a 1970 interview to Morrison himself in which he predicts the future of music, from which the track adopts its title.

It is the format by which these events come to our ears that Saraceni found inspiration from, since not only Morrison predicted the advent of the one-man band surrounded by 'machines and tapes' but it is this statement itself a tape recording in its own right. The conceptual playfulness that this postmodern work is characterised by is given by both its content and its container, since what is being revoked by the means of this remix is both the essence of the band's live sounds and live performance adapted to nowaday rhythms, as well as the way in which these have came together by the very means (tapes and machines) which Morrison spoke of in his interview, this last one as well being evocatively employed in the mix, making of the remixer (and in a way of Morrison himself as well - as he directs the dialogue within the track) the true one-man band in relation to and within the various fragments of time and tape-space assembled into one single recording.
