Four years ago, during the Summer of 2019, I released a mix for Party People Sound Solutions, the Victoria-based promotions company run by local legend Jeff Lingwood (Dj Primitive). Jeff wanted me to create a mini mix that essentially represents my more ‘lounge’ style of djing and also showcases some of the vibes that I bring to Lure; the classy little spot where I spend my Saturday nights in the Delta Hotel. At the time, Feel Trip was uploaded to Mixcloud, and it wasn’t until just a month ago that I rediscovered it, and decided that it needed some dreamy album art and a new home on SC. A lot of classic Nu Jazz from the mid-2000s in this one, and a handful of my fave Lofi house artists. She’s a short one, but honestly, this mix is literally good for anytime, anywhere. This is a set I put together earlier this year which was meant to be played this summer at 230pm on the beach stage at The Pachena Bay Festival on Saturday. Due to what seemed to be an unfortunate surge from the generator, my USB hub got fried, and therefore I was unable to connect my laptop to my mixer. I was heartbroken. Thankfully I had some of the most important people in my life around me to keep me from a complete breakdown. 

After many attempts to get things to work, the decision was made to play on CDJs, through an external HD, which didn’t have the music for this set on it, so I had to quickly improvise. The set went well, people loved it, but I was left extremely frustrated and discouraged. 

In the 30 years I’ve been playing music, I’ve honestly never put so much time, effort and emotion into building a set as I have this one. After the unfortunate events, I vowed I’d never play this anywhere other than the setting is was meant for, but my amazing Estelle 💖 talked me into making this my first studio recording in almost 8 years, and I’m happy she did.

The BrrrChill mix series has been a great outlet to bring together some of my favorite chill/downtempo/emotional tunes I find along the way. I never really know what path these mixes will take on when I start putting them together but this one feels like a true winter chill mix to me. A slow-burning journey that carries emotional energy to the very end. 

The music/vibe in these mixes is what I usually listen to on a day-to-day basis when I’m not preparing for an upcoming show. This style of music has helped me immensely through the ups and downs of life and I hope it can help you in some way too.

After exploring some more upbeat vibes with 10, this year is definitely a return to that smooth, sexy, weird, bassy, eclectic vibe that Coma Dose is all about. Night Spell 10

Hey friends! I've got a new mix for ya just in time for summer. This is a live recording from my 3(ish) hour afternoon set at a fun little event in Nevada back in May. I thought I was recording for all of it... but apparently not! So here you go, a raw and only slightly edited hour full of chill vibey daytime vibes.

I'm incredibly grateful for this experience that I got to share with one of my friends and such an amazing group of people. My heart was so full coming home... This adventure just blew me away. And now I'm super excited that I get to share some of those lovely vibes with all of you too!
