So this mix is years overdue... As a DJ who started out playing strictly DnB I used to have a secret hate on for house music. House was always a dirty word in my vocabulary but over the years, especially during the pandemic I started to dig it more and more. My doctor said there was nothing wrong with me, it's perfectly normal to like house music.😅 I'm no aficionado but, for a while, I've wanted to put together a bunch of my favorite housey & garagey tunes. So here it is, my first ever House (and a little garage) mix Durty Wurd! Perfect for summer time boogies, road trips, pool parties, orgies etc...

Attending Shambhala as my first ever music festival in 2012 was such a pivotal moment in my life - helping me find my path and be comfortable dancing down it. At the time I didn't even know I'd ever even want to be a DJ. You could say I was just a.... civilian. 

Playing the festival on my favourite stage 10 years later was a very mind-blowing full circle moment, and it means a lot to me to put this recording out there. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did making and playing it.

11 years ago I recorded my first Coma Dose mix. Since that day it's been my goal to make it all the way to number 10. These mixes have brought me so much joy over the years and today I am very proud to share with you, Number 10! Woo Hoo! It seemed like a pretty unlikely goal back then and I never would have made it here without the support and encouragement from all my friends and fans. I friggin love you guys. Thank you soooo much for listening for over a decade. I hope these mixes got at least one of y'all laid lol. This was the first time I'd ever played a sunrise Coma Dose set. I hadn't intended to record it, at first, but it really was a special set that I'll never forget and a lot of folks have been asking about it. Also I feel like I owe it to all the homies, trolls, fans and fam that stayed up all night to wub with me at the crack of dawn. This is for you. At my first Otherworld I played 5 completely different sets but I was really stoked for this one because I've wanted to play a live Coma Dose set for years. It went down at the Temple of Eternal Nectar stage at Sunrise. and it was magical.

It was such an honour to be invited back to Basscoast to perform for a second year in a row - an invitation thats importance was not lost on me. A lot of DJ's shy away from day time sets, but to me, playing in the day and killing it is a hallmark of a good DJ. You can't go too hard or it won't fit the vibe, but if you don't go hard enough it can be boring. You really have walk a fine line. So shout out all DJ's who can play at all times of night and day, and the producers making the music and remixes that can fit a dance floor or a car ride home from the festival.

This years theme being "Reflection" I wanted to present an accurate portrayal stylistically of my last ten years as a DJ. Ranging the full spectrum of BPM and leaving to no stone unturned, utilizing new techniques and technology that only became available to me this year, and trying things on stage I've never tried before, I am very proud to present my set from Basscoast 2024 at the Cabin Stage on Saturday afternoon. If you were there, I hope this brings you back to a happy place, and if this is your first time hearing it, I hope you enjoy.

Back in the day, Mt. Doyle was known for his smooth taste in Drum & Bass and his unmatched love for pizza. But it wasn't long before Doyle expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful West Coast flavour. He quickly became a staple in the BC electronic music scene, known not only for his multi-genre sets but his range of recorded mixes as well.

Over the past 10 years, Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over the North West, including Shambhala, Lightning In A Bottle, Rifflandia, Electric Love, Wicked Woods, Friendzy Fest, Fozzy Fest, Bamboo Bass, Astral Harvest, Ska Fest, Sun Fest and The Tall Tree Festival. In that time he’s shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Camo & Krooked, Ed Solo, A.Skillz, Stickybuds, The Funk Hunters, Chali 2na, JFB, Dub FX, Rusko, Technimatic, LSB & DRS, Serial Killaz, Dub Pistols, Ray Keith, Netsky and Andy C.

In 2016 Mt. Doyle started The Hydration Mix Series, a monthly Liquid Drum & Bass podcast with DJs Akela, Willisist, Erski, Reflektor, Lasu and DJ Surgeon. Later that year Doyle took on a whole new style as he joined the ranks of Victoria based Hip-Hop band Illvis Freshly, where he made his singing debut. Now, when he's not solo, you can catch his live set with Doyle on vocals and Philly on the guitar.

Over the years Mt. Doyle has established himself as one of the most versatile DJs on Vancouver Island. With a mountainous lust for music and style that keeps you guessing, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time, any place, with whatever the hell he wants.
