UK DJ/producer SOSA lands on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this May with a bumping house two-tracker ‘The Wave’. 

Following releases on Cuttin’ Headz, Solid Grooves Raw & Sola, not to mention his own imprint COCO, Liverpool-based SOSA arrives on Jamie Jones’ revered Hottrax imprint with ‘The Wave’, bringing a dose of fast-paced, bass-heavy house music for his debut. 

Title cut ‘The Wave’ sees swung, intricate percussion dance around heavy low-end pressure, introducing hyped vocals and sizzling risers throughout the track for pure dancefloor pandemonium. Flicking between bouncing, syncopated basslines, ‘Warp Speed’ wraps itself around chunky percussion and vocal samples for a thrilling conclusion to a high energy EP. 

With supporters like Alan Fitzpatrick, Skream and the Martinez Brothers as well as love from Danny Howard, Pete Tong and Annie Mac, SOSA is at the vanguard of a new wave of house producers set to dominate in 2021 and beyond.

‘The Angel’ kicks off with the sort of dynamism Trick releases are becoming known for. Disco licks, vocal snips and crisp snare rolls push the track’s dancefloor impact potential through the roof. For Darius Syrossian’s remix, the Defected affiliate pulls back on the original’s elements, introducing tension and release throughout a series of entertaining builds and fresh vocal chops. ‘I’ve Got The Feeling’ ups the energy, leading into rowdy rave stabs, soaring samples, and pounding drums, leading into closing cut ‘I’ve Got The Groove’, which maintains the energy with sharp, visceral bass and skippy percussion to round out the release

‘Do you know’ is coming out via PXU white series on September 20th in the limited vinyl-only release as an edit package. The release includes two edits of aforementioned Whitney Houston’s ‘How will I know’ and two edits of Mary J Blige’s ‘Family Affair’.

An accomplished and globally renowned name within house music, with remix credits for the likes of Joey Negro and Masters At Work through to Jamiroquai and Mariah Carey, UK DJ and producer Martin Ikin continues to remain a leading artist within the worldwide electronic music scene and a firm favourite within the #ToolroomFamily.

With the past twelve months welcoming a host of originals and remixes on Toolroom, alongside releases via the likes of Sola, Repopulate Mars, Catch & Release and elrow Music to name just a few, late-January sees Ikin pick things up right where he left off as he returns to deliver his latest single, ‘You’ – an infectious and exuberant house anthem fuelled by euphoric piano builds, soulful vocals and typically slick percussion arrangements.
