EOS Radio - oma totem & Kinetic - 07.10.2022

Always trying to deliver a mix who tell a story, according to a season or a theme. This one was recorded after 𝙉𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚, new indoor festival by the crew behind Nachtdigital. The festival took place at Weissenhäuser Strand, a holiday park on the Baltic coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Many of my fav' DJs was there (Bambounou, Byron Yeates,  Gerd Janson, Helena Hauff, Job Jobse, KI/KI, Marie Montexier, etc..)and hit the different floors with masterclass. I wanted to give back with this mix the musical trip i had.

Baltic & Diver Trip

Lost connections is the storytelling of lost love opportunities. Meeting the perfect match in the wrong place, the wrong time or in the wrong situation. Stories that could have flourished but couldn’t develop. Hope, big feelings, anger, sadness, and ultimately, acceptance. Because everything shall pass. Looking back, and listening to this mix, I want to visit those joyful moments that made those stories so special.

To Love You

Today’s premiere is the title track from “Dream Phases”, Davis Smith’s forthcoming EP on Chicago-based Leisure Records. Smith’s discography ranges from deep house via their DJ Heaven alias, to ambient and downtempo as Sorceress, and their next release marks their deep delve into electro, impressively channeling old school Detroit emotional energy throughout all four tracks, under their new Ephemeral alias.  

Dream Phases opens with a Drexciyan pad that coils symbiotically with euphoric keys throughout the track, taking us on a five minute daze inducing excursion. The track serves as the perfect opener to the rest of the EP, which rises in energy with “Forever Memory” and “Full Moon”, before “Azure” serves as the perfect melancholic closer to this beautiful EP.

We look forward to hearing Smith’s next sonic adventure with their stunning range of sounds and what they explore next.

The “Dream Phases” EP comes out on Leisure Records on April 14th, 2023
