Pippi Ciez born Birmingham England of Spanish heritage is an experienced producer, DJ, audio engineer & Co-owner of Inward Records with Sparrow & Barbossa.

His Number 1 Beatport Album Release 'Multiple of Three' on All Day I Dream to end 2021 has been heavily supported by the best in the scene 'Black Coffee, Keinsmusik & Lee Burridge' consistently premiering Pippi's unique organic afro & house sound.

His mysterious frequencies, percussive drums and other worldly sounds seem to take you on spiritual journeys through beautiful electronic soundscapes. Working with instrument players worldwide bringing together real electronic orchestrated pieces. Find Flute from Nasiri & Johan Pourbaix, African vocals of Idd Aziz, Toshi, Lizwi, Tabla of Mendi Mohinder Singh Violin from Ning Ning Li and so many more, immensely talented artists collaborating with Pippi to infuse more of an organic sound.

Returning from living in India 2017 where he toured Asia & was teaching audio engineering & music production he is now back in the studio composing his future sound he is calling ‘World Music” Pippi has been keeping himself very busy in the lab with signings to Behrouz's label Do Not Sit, 'Shiva Tales Ep' Autumn 2020, along with being the new face at Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream label.

2021 has seen him play all over the world alongside the best in the scene.

Ciez has 20 years of experience in the music industry, including working as a label owner, mix engineer, and qualified teacher. Ciez is known for its Afro and organic house sound, which features mysterious frequencies, percussive drums, and otherworldly sounds.

Our latest Foxcast arrives from French duo Chambord as they gear up for their Cityfox debut.

Chambord first crossed paths in high school and began their musical journey together in 2013. The global lockdown became a catalyst for their creativity, resulting in standout productions like "Wonderland" on Kindisch and "Mamentia" (2020) released on Blondish's label, Abracadabra. They also crafted a self-produced live show that quickly secured them top tour spots as soon as venues reopened.

Their enchanting performances have captivated electronic music fans worldwide, from the iconic Burning Man under the Mayan Warrior banner to Amsterdam's ADE with Gardens of Babylon. Whether live or in DJ sets, their intricate and joyous sounds, especially tracks like "Together We Stand" released on the renowned French label Ed Banger, or "Born In Blue," which amassed millions of streams in less than three months on Spotify, have left a lasting impression.

In 2022, they launched their own label, Around Midnight, where they produce and support artists they both admire and consider friends. Drawing from a wide range of influences, from classical to rock and techno, Chambord's infectious energy and deep musical knowledge shine through.

The moment I heard "Spanish Joint" I was hooked on D'Angelo's soulful approach to music. The dynamic of his singing, the hard hitting chords, the off timing of his compositions, the pocketed sound of the drums, the mixes that emphasized feel over clarity. 

Many months ago I got inspired to make this remix with my own twist. I edited his vocal flow reshaping it to a House groove (4/4), added synth keys and thick bass to his jazzy chords and picked my favorite parts of the song. I also added some percussions. I've been playing it mainly at after-hours and it always brings a warm uplifting intimate vibe to the dance floor. It has become a real favorite. 

Last week we learned about D'Angelo’s unexpected rise to the heavens so today I want to share this remix with you in his honor so you can also bring his special soulful energy wherever you are.


Rest in power D'Angelo and thank you for the endless inspiration.

Here is my live set from Envision 2019 in Costa Rica. This was one of the most powerful sets of my life. I played live so it is all loops and improvised instrumentation with my three musician friends that accompanied me on the journey: Darren Austin Hall on vocals, Marcelo Berges on guitar, and Chris Assaad on vocals. All three of these guys are great musicians in their own right so it was really fun to collaborate with them and weave this journey for a really beautiful group of people ready to receive these vibrations with a totally open heart and mind.
