AKA NINA, born and raised in Switzerland.
One decade ago she found herself drawn into the heart of the techno scene in Berlin. This is where she dedicated her time to studying sound engineering and music production, and here she also started to DJ on a regular base.

Her music style varies from minimalistic dark and groovy beats to more intense and hypnotic techno. In both, her production and in her DJ sets, Nina aims to combine classic techno elements with psychedelic and organic sound design.

During the last two years, AKA NINA released her own music on several labels like Soupherb Records, Occultech Recordings, Digital Structures, Padang Records, Pointzero Rec, and Psy4Aliens.

Nina has had the pleasure to perform at famous festivals, like Boom (PT), Modem (HR), Masters of Puppets (CZ), Shankra (CH), Fora de Tempo (PT), Odyssee (DE). She played at world-renowned clubs in Berlin such as Sisyphos, Mensch Meier, and Kitkat, and at the same time, she became a resident DJ for the xXETEXx parties, a well-established crew in the electronic Berlin scene.

Organic Vibrations @ Esoteric Festival 2023- Ascension Stage

This is the 2nd and last set I prepared for AfrikaBurn '24.  The journey of this set has less peaks and toughs, and more driving from start to finish.  It starts a bit lighter and energetic, goes into some deep bass bangers, comes out the other side with some consistent driving psychedelic goodness, dips into deep base towards the end, and culminates on an absolute gem of a track.

Universal Connection Mix

Dj Zen is undoubtedly one of the pioneering Trance veterans in the Netherlands, having inspired and introduced many young spacecadets to Goa/Psych Trance throughout the 90’s with countless DJ sets and his now legendary Doors of Perception events.

Zen was always charmed by electronic music. He enjoyed listening to synthesizer music, like JM Jarre, Vangelis, Kraftwerk, and space out. Somewhere  in 1983 he heard first time Electronic Hip Hop music. Starting to collect records, like the famous Electro compilations, and start learn to mix  with casettes and records. 

Visiting his first warehouse Acid House party in 1989 Zen immediately felt strong connection to the hypnotising music and the forthcoming lifestyle. Collecting the finest tunes and mixing day and night  Zen developed very talented dj skills. His ability of mixing smoothly various styles in a perfect flow impressed friends and many party people. 

Soon he grabbed the attention of organizers and promoters and many bookings followed.  A international crowd of lovely people grew around him. Zen became dutch pioneer of Goa Trance.

Since that time Zen has been organizing many clubnigts and parties, like in the legendary Mazzo (Ordeals in Sound) & Trance Buddha (Doors of Perception) in the nineties and the Samskara Event parties last years. Bringing over the most talentfull artists from all over the world. Having weekly gigs in Amsterdam Zen grabbed international attention. This way he inspired lots of people to play, enjoy and produce psytrance music. Besides all this he was involved in the 2 labels Adodisc and Third Mind records in the ninties. 
Since 2009 he became member of the Iono Music dj team. 

In his sets you can expect the unexpected! It’s always full of surprises with a magical touch. From pumping, atmospheric Psy Trance to deep groovy Progressive Trance. Every time Zen manages to create a beautiful flow of various atmospheres, grooves and hypnotising beats. This all combined with smooth and perfect mixing qualities makes him a beloved and well respected DJ.
