Grenadian Based Dj and Sound System Owner, been djing since school days till now

Dj Russian, something of an anomaly in music seen as the humble fast rising Dj/ Selector who dispenses musical epiphanies wherever he plays through his knowledge of music, passion for music, clean/smooth mixing, creativity and vibrant vibes. 

Dj Russian interest in music has played an important role in the growth of his love for music and thinks “Music is life and life is music” the 25 year old from Kingston Jamaica was born and raised in a volatile community called Text Lane (spoilaz). Dj Russian passion and love for music started at a tender age growing up being around his father sound system & recall playing music from record mixing from one cassette to another and even taping songs off the radio with my audio cassette recorder.

He can be considered as a very hardworking individual who dedicates not only passion in music but in anything that he is apart of, “I believe the sky is the limit and work hard for what u want”. Russian’s professional music career started immediate after finishing high school (Pembroke Hall High 2010) where he went and pursue a skill at the Dunoon Park Technical High 2011) this is where his talent was developed and lifted as he rocked college parties (such as School fetes and university Faculty Parties all over jamaica by making college students dance, girl “dash out” and behaving extremely wild and various parties within Kingston & St Andrew. 

In 2013 Dj Russian took it to the streets (dancehall scene) creating an impact with my hilarious intros and mixing skills. His legacy continued through hard work,sleepless night and true support from friends and family big up to The PURGE & LG team he was seen as one of the young giants. He then played in popular dancehall party events such as LG(Life’s Good) Expose, PURGE, OFF DI BLVD, BOUNTY SUNDAZE, UPTOWN MONDAZE and many more popular events throughout Jamaica. 

Given the opportunity to play at these events, he emerged as one with true talent and a household name and a top selector playing among those he look up to as role models in the industry as a young selector, such as: Boom Boom, Tony Matterhorn, Fire Links, Ikel marvelous, Flabba Dabba, Bishop Escobar, Dj Banka, Stone Love, Sky Juice and others. 

Turning heads throughout the industry, his Sonics infiltrated numerous genres such as: Dancehall, Souls/Rnb, Hip Hop, Edm, Disco, House,Ska and popular international Beats. “My Dj style is orchestrated from analyzing my crowd” he said. Playing the particular juggling or set of tunes at the appropriate moment/ time taking into consideration the appropriate event I am playing and other particular Dj’s that are playing. He’s  aim at fusing older version of songs with the new to reach the wider audience by exercising his knowledge of the music. “My musical philosophy is LET THE MUSIC SPEAK” he said. 

My aim is to lay a foundation for myself as a true music ambassador locally and internationally and teaches my peers around me that I did it from the innocent so they can too if they put there mind to it. 
He is influenced by my parents, close friends (Jadaine, Omari, Jetlee , David & Chevy) his fans and his co workers who pushed him each and every day and gave him advise on how to improve his craft. 

“I DID IT SO YOU CAN TOO” is my motto to all the kids in the innocity. I LOVE MUSIC!!!
