Taxman aka Dominic Tindill releases ‘Rebirth’ on 17th Feb, the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Synthetic Visions’, featuring guest vocals from singer Diane Charlemagne (who provided the haunting vocals on Goldie’s ‘Inner City Life’).

‘Rebirth’ is a lighter cut than the heavy basslines of previous Taxman stalwarts such as ‘Original Ninja’ or ‘Scan Darker’, but the single equally showcases his diversity and depth of production skills. This one will be a dnb DJ staple well into the Summer and boasts a lot of crossover appeal too – especially as it is released as four mixes (Club / Full Vocal / Hard Mix / Radio).

Speaking about the vocal collaboration, Taxman enthuses, ‘I’ve always wanted to work with her since I heard her on Inner City Life all those years ago. I didn’t really think I had a chance of working with her, to be honest, but I asked (label boss) Hype to try and track her down, and then Diane and I ended up in the studio together. She is an amazing person with an amazing talent…’

Versatile, dependable Swiss label Demand Records are back, showcasing their new Albatross EP by prodigious 18 year old Belgium based producer Phase – an artist whom they first unearthed and exhibited last summer with the vibey, liquid roller pairing of Ways Of Thought/No Doubt – a record which caused quite a stir when it was first released.

Turning up the heat even more, refining and distilling down his production technique and sound into something much more unique and hard hitting, whilst at the same time retaining his original liquid orientated soundscapes, Phase’s new EP combined aspects of rugged, low end experimentation with heady summer vibes. Combining emotional, organic instrumentation with a lovely selection of varied vocal performers – elements that lift the gifted producer out of strictly dancefloor territory into that of real musicianship and song writing – banging, uncluttered beats and downright dutty reese bass work, Phase’s music comes across as a bastard hybrid of epic proportions.

Albatross utilises a selection of classic drum breaks atop an old school referencing 2-step beat with deft vocal work and harmonisation from Viv May, warm, ambient soundscapes and moving piano melodies all lovingly punctuated with twisting stabs of evil bass work.

With two stellar EPs for Dispatch already under his belt, the next release sees the Italian virtuoso Dabs return to the label with “The Constant EP”, featuring two exclusive and original productions, plus another two fresh takes on previous Dabs tracks for Dispatch.

Kicking off where the last EP left off, Dabs has reworked previous title track “Objection” into a neck snapping menace of a VIP, with bleeps of the original jittering fervently over thumping new low ends. Following this is the next collaboration with Cern, ahead of his own album for Dispatch. With an air of extra-terrestrial isolation to the start, “Alter Ego” showcases the pair’s incredible technical prowess, with a fierce and uncompromising stomper for the dancefloor.

Cern & Dabs also receive the remix treatment from Villem & Mcleod for their melancholic “Hell Rose” in wonderfully subtle fashion; retaining much of the musicality, with the added warmth of a fresh, pulsating bassline. Closing the EP off with the mystical, yet percussion strewn “I Can Feel”, Dabs completes another very high quality package and one that shows why we continue to release his music here at Dispatch!

Mayhem and I are back! Well to be honest we never really stopped working together, more like we hit pause.
