MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. 
Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.

The EP opens with Agnelli's remix of "Resist", this track is a muscular and stomping. He catches the originals mood and transforms it into a spectacular version that will leave the dance floor in ashes. BIG! The original version of 'Resist'  it's a funky and driving technostomper with house chords that creates an obsessive and powerful rhythm, accompanied with a hypnotic vocal saying 'Resist' in132bpm!
The B side continues with the original version of 'Hope' which got a melody in the best Detroit tradition and powerful 808 drums. A stripped dark atmosphere ensure a breathless pace, to the final second. 
Finally, Electric Rescue morphs this one into a powerful loopy journey, A synth hellfire as it's best.
All of them are already Berghain approved and rocked countless other floors.

Field Records embarks on a new mini trilogy of EPs that will present a magical journey through modern-day trance. First up in the series is Artefakt with their three track effort The Final Theory. Dutch producers Robin Koek and Nick Lapien make up Artefakt, and between them they excel at moody voodoo music on labels like Delsin and Field. 

They open this latest EP with the title track, a deep, spacious house roller with subtle pads and gentle acid that perform slow motion acrobatics for nearly ten minutes. It is suspensory, dreamy music that works on the head as well as the heel. Moving Horizon is then less doleful and introspective but just as deep, with sweeping pads add a sense of scale, busy drums bring the dynamism and icy percussive sounds adding a sense of urgency. Last but not least, Solaris is a fatter, more physical groove with claps and gloopy bass, acid flashes and trancey pads all fleshing out a lush and deep electro workout. This is heavenly stuff that cannot fail to get inside your head and heart.

OVERVIEW:
Techno fans in New York and Chicago should be pretty aware of Jeff Derringer by now. Since launching Oktave in October 2009 with partner Kevin Gregor, the former indie rocker has turned a passion for deeper electronic music into a respected DJ and promoter career. But it is as a producer that Jeff has begun to earn rising recognition elsewhere—throughout the US and beyond—with his records infiltrating Europe via support from the likes of Silent Servent, Chris Leibing and Peter Van Hoesen, along with many others that have graced Oktave over the years.

A trio of Perc Trax releases saw Jeff fashion hypnotic loops into deep and darkly charged techno, culminating in the stringent artillery that landed on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe label this summer (a collaboration between Jeff and LA protagonists Raiz). Now comes Situational Ethics, Jeff Derringer’s first full three-track EP and most serious studio statement yet. Over “Ambition”, “Compassion” and “Shame” Jeff Derringer masterfully builds tension with shamanic cyclical rhythms and punishing basslines, weaved here into potent and intoxicating concoctions from haunted beginning, viper-laden middle to heavyweight end. Electric Deluxe bedfellow Brendon Moeller then concludes the EP with a rework of “Shame” plied with signature Moeller-crafted sounds over a punchy, turbulent beat that only just about lifts Jeff Derringer’s powerful spell.

Fachwerk boss and dubby techno don Mike Dehnert steps away from his usual home for a new EP on Delsin entitled ‘Umgangston’. It’s not his first time on the label following last year’s Fachwerk album, but it does see him cast his sonic net a little further afield.

‘Andruck’ swings back and forth on a squelchy synth hook as tin foil hi hats cut up long thin pads. Knocking bell sounds add plenty of silvery colours to the dubby bass below, and it’s one of the more serene and beautiful Dehnert cuts of recent times.

‘Tracer’ is much sterner, with huge Basic Channel dub waves breaking beneath scratchy synths and acid bleeps. Fizzing and fine grain like warm white noise, it’s for those more intense dancefloor moments.

‘Refillable’ finds Mike in full on rave mode with filters twisting and turning and skewing synths into weird patterns as hi hat ringlets race between sandy claps and a tortured vocal yelps out every so often. Rushy and racy, it’s underpinned with a walloping kick drum where closer ‘Umgangston’ is about knife-edge intensity, cantering kick drums and wild, freeform synth lines.

Seemingly a touch untethered from his usual basement dub techno aesthetic, Mike Dehnert might surprise you with this one.

Soma are pleased to welcome Vidab Records boss Oliver Deutschmann to the roster as he debuts with the dark & hypnotic ‘Dazed & Confuzed’ EP. Firmly established in the underground, Deutschmann has stood behind his unique brand of 4/4 beats for more than a decade; a permanent fixture at Panorama Bar for over 4 years with his dubby, pushing house vibes, old school drums, intense peaks and driving modern dramatics. Developing a strong signature sound, Oliver translates real emotion and atmosphere into his productions, with bold, crisp and powerful drums, resonant, textural synthlines and a stylish talent for keeping things locked down to hypnotising effect. 
His debut EP on Soma shows his darker edge, expertly opened with ‘Dazed’. A heavy kick drum and deep, rolling sub bass is backed up with a hypnotic synth hook right from the beginning as Deutschmann sets up the listener and dance floor for a proper shakedown. Rising steadily that familiar 909 clap comes in to show that this track means business as it powers through.
The follow up ‘Confuzed’ picks up where Dazed left off. Tough drums kick the track into overdrive straight away as Oliver doesn’t let up on the hypnotic Techno found on the EP’s opener. Pounding drums and tripped out vocal teases its way into the track as a prolonged breakdown keeps the track bubbling until, with brute force, launches relentlessly back in. This is uncompromising Techno at its best.
This is a top EP from a producer who can flawlessly move between styles and who isn’t adverse to showing his darker side.
