"I feel that this set is a good representation of the tunes I like to rep, with a contrast of moods and dynamic style of mixing. The first 10-15 min section is quite memorable for me, as I was really enjoying the energy the tunes were bringing out of each other. The third tune, which is from Florentino, is quite an upfront percussive banger, but when it comes in from the DJ Boss tune it’s just got a straight-up sexy quality, haha. Then the Youngsta tune after it just amplifies the hype. Plus: I got to give a shout to re:ni as I got very, very hyped playing one of her new bits! The Sputnik One bit sounding bloody epic too, and I played 3 tunes from Amor Satyr/Siu Mata – so I got to give him a special mention too!"

Local Eora/ Sydney talent Charley Fester aka Command D (@commandd) for number #141. Having only been producing music for a couple of years, Charley burst onto the scene with an inspiring ray of enthusiasm, skill & output, with releases on outputs @purespacefm, @companionmelb & @minimal_collective.

The talented producer & dj has quickly marked his signature sound, dubby & smooth as silk, oozing a specific warmth and groove which listeners can quickly recognise as Command D. Keep an eye out for a forthcoming release by Charley out on Animalia, due out very soon :) He's also working on a debut live set which he'll showcase over the Australian summer.

"​For this mix, I focused on queer femme energy from a dancer's perspective. This mix is her own woman. And yes, she has a voice (and attitude) of her own.

So what, she is loud, raunchy and just a little cunty? You love her cause she keeps it real. I focused on what feels sexy and empowering to me and followed that feeling just like I do in my live sets. Technique wise, I was pulling samples, melodies from my Caribbean upbringing and digitized records for this for a quite a while, so it was extremely satisfying to hear the sounds in my head come together in real time, fully realized.

This mix is a sweaty somatic affirmation to the fat girls, the shy club kids who don’t wanna go home, the girls who stay out too late, for those in which the club is home, those who yearn to be free and everyone else in between. May this mix be our release."

To celebrate the launch of our 2017 line-up, and after 3 years and countless requests we are very pleased to finally release the long-lost recording of one of the most memorable sessions ever heard at the Fort.

On the final night of Dimensions 2014, a huge lightning storm broke out. 
Not knowing how long they'd be able to play, the pair decided to share the decks on the Eglo stage while the weather allowed. What followed was over 5 hours of pure musical joy, an epic journey through disco, funk, house, soul, acid house and everything in between in front of a relentless crowd of very wet dancers.

In 2017 we welcome Grace Jones, Jeff Mills, Theo Parrish, Moderat, Marcel Dettmann, Floating Points, Cymande, Nina Kraviz, Shuggie Otis, Daphni and 200 more to the Croatian shore.

Planet Euphorique is the name of @d-tiffany’s label, but also a perfect summation of her sound: musically she reworks rave, euphoria, trance, electro, breakbeat and techno into all out emotional onslaughts that get hands in the air and chests swelling with joy. The Canadian - who also runs the xpq? label - has always got things done on her own terms, from running parties in her own house in Vancouver to making dance music with the gear she had previously used as part of a band via setting up her own women-focused Intersessions DJ school.

This week she treats us to an extra special two hour selection that will take you to the heart of a rave in your front room. It’s a mix that bristles with life, from dusty and teary-eyed breakbeats that are shrouded in nostalgia to more clipped and kicking techno. The mixing is tight and urgent and after initially serving up plenty of lush moments of melody and IDM introspection, it grows all the more direct and unhinged later on.
