Stripped back and bony funk. The residue and distant memories of a party.
Closing your eyes, still not dark. A lighting rig under your lids. A night lasting 20
years, falling asleep with your favourite song on repeat. The deconstructed,
untangled memory lingers in your system. What you hear are the remnants of a
social gathering and its body movements.
KMOS. The fog machines are gone, the free deconstructed thinking laid out bare.
Fourth album. The white noise funk still here, 4 to the floor and gnarly basslines.
The jazz but the tight, the funk but the taut. The austere but the flow. The
instruments, sinuous and intricate. The deconstructed dancefloor. Sawed up bits,
sawed up pieces. The drums the strings the claps the sharpness. Rearranged,
picked apart. organized for a new day. A new idea. A new blueprint. A brave
new clear elusive promise. The love in the strict. The strict but the mess. The strict
but the lie. A promise.
Drifting through a sleepless world. The rent, the eyes, the mirror the scrolling the
daylight, and the gravel in your eyes. Sounds of endless nights long lasting days,
reality and visions, blurred and frazzled. The eavesdropping the neighbour the
conversations the sleep. The fear and the joy and the new that I project onto you.
The loopy sound of sirens. The joy of the sun. The field, the horizon, the light, the
smoke. Xeroxed memories are now our new. The love the dream. The sleep the
wake. The wish the longing. The promise the fear. What once was promised

"For "The Reformer Mix Vol. 1" we wanted to change it up a bit from our other mixes that are either straight forward, or live recorded in the club. We used two Technics 1200's and recorded a longer mix session, then edited everything down, mixed in live overdubs with turntables, added vocoder melodies, and also a proper amount of shout outs. The idea was to present a highly condensed mix that still has the raw live feeling we love from playing records in the club. With more than 30 tracks in about 55 min we're using some of our favourite cuts, moving through our biggest influences from House, Techno, and Electro, mixing all with a solid base in Hip-Hop." -LNS & DJ Sotofett

Trushmix 211 - Dynamo Dresen

Montreal's Phoebé Guillemot plays records as DJ FATi and is an album specialist as RAMZi. Just this month her fifth full length, Pèze-Piton, dropped and was another beautifully unusual mix of tropical house, dub, future jazz and experimental grooves that are impossibly loose and inescapably infectious. Releasing on cult labels like Mood Hut, 1080p and Rvng Into., her leftfield sounds feel at once completely alien yet also wholly organic and earthy. They are jumbled collages of trippy vocal sounds, squelchy synths and tumbling drums that real new details with each listen. 

Playing live but also DJing under the DJ Fati alias, when in selector mode her sound is just as fresh. This mix is a worldly hour of laid-back beats, jungle house and new age grooves that ooze exotic flavours and tropical vibes. It goes through blissed out and baeachy passages of instrumentals, jumbled drums and shimmering synths that paint a perfect picture of a some imaginary paradise where all there is to do is soak up the sun and dance.

"Unlike the other daytime curators, Lena Willikens chose to open La Sucrière's impressive main hall on Friday, playing alongside her usual back-to-back partner Vladimir Ivkovic. The two looked relaxed behind the decks, swaying, smoking and sometimes smiling. The crowd, less dense than during the other headliners due to the early start, were also in a good mood, using the extra space to feel out each beat of the slower selections. Much of the two hours felt like existing in the lagging moment of a sci-fi movie, just before a spaceship launches into warp speed (in a good way, I promise)."
