He selects nothing but amazing tunes, plays them out loud straight from vinyl and mixes fearlessly through moods and grooves. As a former member of the Ghent based venue 'Kerk', as part of the 22tracks.com team or as a dj touring the country, he always confirms his great skills. @johnosborn moved to Berlin in the late 1990’s, in the aftermath of the fall of the wall, when the city was heaving with electronic music and full of empty spaces in which creativity could thrive. From his first gig at WMF, on the bill alongside @dixon and @mitja-prinz, to his residency at Panorama Bar for @scubaofficial’s famed SUB:STANCE parties, he quickly became a regular fixture in the local electronic music scene – and has remained there since. 
As the head of DRED (and formerly of TANSTAAFL RECORDS), John has found space to express his creativity away from the dancefloor, both as a producer/remixer and as a selector and champion of emerging and established artists.

This adroit, blistering mix is a live recording of his sunrise set from Patterns of Perception’s Two Years party at @about-blank-berlin on 5-6 May, 2018.

Our first mix of 2019 comes from none other than Joey Anderson, and we really cannot overstate our excitement about this one. Since the first Exchange Place releases on Strength Music over a decade ago, Joey has solidified his place as one of the great talents of USA dance music. He came to DJing and production via the dance floor, where he spent years dancing, battling, and educating, and his artistic ethos is imbued with all of that dance floor magic -- that flow and stellar quality that only arrives via a respectful and practiced listener. His sound exhibits a reverence for the underground house networks of NYC/NJ, but his palette seems to strike from some distant moon. He truly has a voice all his own, and we thank him for sharing this session.

Detroit’s Patrice Scott is a lifelong student of the deep who brings something fresh to his more techno orientated hometown. His smoky, atmospheric house lays low and rolls on endlessly, getting you in a meditative state and keeping you there with spine-tingling vocal motifs and beautifully delicate keys. His own Sistrum label has been on a similar mission since 2006, and you’d be hard pushed to find deep house as raw and emotionally charged anywhere in the world. 

His podcast is a two hour masterclass in smooth and seductive house that explores plenty of different moods. Selections exude the sort of class and quality that Scott has made his trademark: he’s not afraid of a jiggy drum pattern, or a vulnerable female voice, but the kicks always remain rooted to the floor and impossible to ignore. Come rain or shine, outdoor stages or indoor sweat boxes, this is the sort of mix that will always make a mark.
