For our 199th Truancy Volume and our last mix of the year we welcome none other than René Pawlowitz to the series, providing us with an hour long mix under his most well known  alias, Shed. One of many numerous names that Pawlowitz has given his productions over the years, (Craft, EQD, Evil Fred, Head High, Operation Amplified, PCK, Rhythm-Spd, Seelow, Sigg Gonzalez, Stable Mates, STP, The Panamax Project, The Traveller, War Easy Made, Wax, WK7) it's the experimental nature and consistency of Shed that's garnered the most listeners. Releasing his seminal Shedding the Past LP via Ostgut Ton in 2008,  an equally as praised follow up in the form of The Traveller cemented Shed's name in techno. Finding a regular home for his music the last few years at the recently defunct 50 Weapons, his on-going professional relationship with Gernot and Sebastian (Modeselektor) has seen him release his fourth album The Final Experiment on Monkeytown this year. Having also recently repressed his own two first albums on a label he's set up under the fourth album title, we caught up with René to discuss the move, taking his Final Experiment A/V show on the road, his Head High alias and fishing. His Truancy Volume which he describes as having a strong theme of feeling and looking to soundtrack the cold month of December with a homely atmosphere, is wide ranging in styles. With a large portion delving into breaks and drum and bass, and not a single 4x4 kick in sight, it's undoubtedly Shed, pulling for influences and emotion that harkens back to the provocative yet compelling sounds of his first two full-lengths, and their follow ups.
