Introducing Toumba - an Amman-based DJ/Producer/Designer who is pushing the boundaries of, and deconstructing Middle Eastern music, specifically, Levantine and Jordanian music. Toumba incorporates traditional sounds with razor-sharp sound design and clever arrangement to produce unique tracks. Garnering attention with his 115 EP on All Centre and his own self released edits and EPs, he also holds down radio residencies with Movements Athens and Maza3ef, and has plenty more new music to come.

About the mix Toumba says, “In this mix, I wanted to highlight the spectrum of music & artists that I've been inspired by lately, and some of the music that I've been making as a result of that. It's a very eclectic and forward-thinking mix which is hard-hitting throughout and takes absolutely no prisoners.”

It’s Silverstone weekend baby! A race that we absolutely couldn’t miss in our calendar. 🏁

Things are getting real juicy with Lando Norris and Max Verstappen continuing to go head-to-head for the top spot. It’s nice to see Max finally feeling the pressure again but it’s looking like a friendship may be heading down the drain as his signature bullish race behaviour is back with Lando as his target which left us screaming at the TV (or at the track like Patricia was) last weekend. This is not helped by the media stirring the pot during the post-race interviews - are they hired by Drive To Survive? Let’s see if this friendship lasts the season. Due to this rivalry, George Russell ended up in the winning seat at Austria and we finally got to see a happy Toto Wolff. Estie Bestie is continuing his chaotic ways - may be worse now he doesn’t have a seat for next year - things are not looking good. Charles Leclerc is back in the stress zone. Lewis Hamilton finally got his first podium of the season at Barcelona. Ollie Bearman has just been confirmed for a F1 seat next year at Haas - we’re very excited to have some fresh faces on the grid. Let’s hope the car holds out for him. Carlos Sainz is straight chilling with no rush to announce his plans for 2025. 

Taking the wheel for the Silverstone race we have Glasgow-based DJ, producer and Redstone Press label founder Lewis Lowe. Looking to the past, Lewis sets his sights on the 1999/2000 season, his favourite era of F1 when Ferrari went from not winning a championship to dominating the sport via Schumacher. The mix is filled with the raw energy that season had to offer. 

The home of British motorsport, Silverstone hosted the first World Championship race since 1950 and has since staged the British Grand Prix more than 50 times. It’s one of only four Grand Prix from the first year of the World Championship to remain a part of today’s F1 calendar (the others being Monaco, Spa and Monza). Lewis Hamilton currently holds the most pole positions (7) and most wins (8) - in 2020 Lewis won the race with only three fully inflated tyres. There is yet to be a British Grand Prix at Silverstone in which all of the top three on the grid finish the race in the same order as they started. And some of the most iconic images in F1 were produced at the conclusion of the 1991 British Grand Prix. Ayrton Senna had run out of fuel at the end of the race and was stranded on the circuit as a result. Race winner Nigel Mansell stopped for the Brazilian and gave him a lift back to the pits on the side of his Williams car.

For our next physical release, FERMA welcomes back home one of the individuals running the project, Romphea.

As a co-founder, he has long shaped the label’s uncompromising DIY ethos—placing experimentation, raw energy, and community at the heart
of its vision. After releasing in a series of acclaimed platforms, the forward-thinking DJ and producer from Vyronas, Athens returns to vinyl with
a genre-defying release. Building on the experimental pulse and reshaping the edge between electro, breaks and techno, Romphea continues that trajectory,
weaving together tense polyrhythms, warped melodic fragments, and cavernous spaces.

This release features four, plus three digital bonus original tracks, aiming to provide a clear sound identity for the artist. The A-side opens with “Calls from Salem”, a dystopian slow burner that sets the tone with broken-beat percussion and dissonant synth stabs. “Steel Chair” surges forward with unrelenting force, propelled by serrated arpeggios and a barrage of fragmented vocals that rise and fall within the space, crafted for peak-time eruption.

Flipping to the B-side, “Paid Dividends” reaches full intensity, layering hammering kicks and percussion, while the low end rumbles with tectonic weight, amplifying the energy to fever pitch. Closing the record on a more contemplative note, “We Are The Universe” slows the pace, easing the tension and drifting into deeper territory. Echoing chords drift into space, layered with fragile percussive details and low, throbbing pulses. It’s a meditation on collapse and renewal, offering a moment of breath after the storm.

Extending beyond the physical record, this release comes with three extra digital exclusives. "Moonlighting" is another dancefloor stomper,
capturing the tension and guiding dancers into a space where time dissolves, while in "Keygen Music", the rhythm remains grounded, but it is softened by melodic fragments that swirl in and out like fleeting memories. The release closes with "The 286 Theory" as a fierce statement: a four-to-the-floor cut, with layers of percussion that drive the groove forward, bringing the record full circle.

Straight from the source, defying the norms, devoted to the art. Do not sleep.

The Dekmantel Selectors compilation series is set to continue with a highly anticipated edition curated by Joy Orbison. First announced in 2015 when the Selectors project was unveiled, the fourth compilation in the series finds the singular UK talent curating a sort of tribute to his home country and its rich musical history.

Like many of us, Joy Orbison (a.k.a. Peter O'Grady) is a product of his environment. Based in London, he's keenly aware of the UK's unique musical landscape and the role it's played in shaping his own artistic vision. Growing up, the sounds of garage, jungle and dubstep all made an impression on him, but O'Grady knows that the roots of this music go back much further. "Soundsystem culture is a thread that runs through almost everything here," he says. "It's had a huge effect on me, sometimes without me even knowing it."

In keeping with previous Selectors compilations, O'Grady's contribution to the series is not a mix CD, but a collection of hand-picked tracks from his own archives. Touching on everything from shuffling garage and loopy techno to booming jungle and a number of distinctly British hybrids, it's a diverse collection to be sure, but O'Grady prefers to focus on what ties these tracks together. "We're a lot more focused on BPM and genre these days," he says, "but I can honestly say that didn't really cross my mind while I was compiling this. In my mind, all these tracks have a lot in common."

"What I do is a direct result of this music and I'm indebted to the sociological factors that brought it to life," explains O’Grady. "The UK at its best is a celebration of diverse cultures intertwining and creating beautiful results. Hopefully this collection of music can document a piece of that. Now more than ever, it seems important to acknowledge and celebrate this."
