Lloyd Stellar - I Just Cant Do It Man

Wonderfully unique, and rooted in field recordings, UK producers Yard One & Tryst’s productions are no stranger to us at Delayed. Having premiered many a tune of theirs over the years, it’s always nice to listen to their latest project. Today is no different as they, alongside Red Pig Flower, and Vovian, join forces to create the latest release on Stolar, titled ‘San-lim Yok’.

Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line), is like a musical deep breath. Giving space and letting listeners take a pause, to recenter themselves. Soft melodies swirl around the depths, while soothing Korean spoken words add a zen-like element. All backed by the sounds and textures of waves crashing on a beach, far far away. As a companion to the premiere, and release, a short film has been created, envisaging the above, set in an evocative color palette, like a shared fever dream.

Forthcoming on Stolar, the San-lim Yok EP also features notable remixes from Alex Albrecht, and Eli Verveine to round out an already jam-packed release that should be out on December 10th.

PREMIERE: Tryst & Vovian - Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line) [Stólar]

As technology advances and processing power increases exponentially, the 21st Century has had a crucial impact on the final stage of development and incorporation of the Neurosphere brainwave device developed by Japanese engineer and scientist Masahiro Kahata. What started in 1960’s with the curiosity to visualize once own brain - has after 40 years of development reached its final stage - a customer ready device that can be used to visualize brainwaves and further direct those impulses towards other technologies.

Ismael Zouaoui, a forward-thinking musician, producer, and sound engineer, has redefined the boundaries of his musical approach with his innovative attempt to incorporate the Neurosphere device into his Audio live project “Kind Des Geistes” (Eng: Child of The Spirit).

A fusion of human & technology, a transcendent live music concept, where Ismael creates avantgarde ambient, experimental sounds using his brain waves as the guiding conductor, orchestrating his instruments through his intuition and the signals of his own brain. Those impulses interact through his synthesizers and instruments, giving birth to symphonies of the subconscious. This integration enhances the narrative, transporting the audience into a realm where music and imagery intertwine seamlessly.

As a testament to this unique symbiosis, the first "Kind Des Geistes - Brainduino" Album emerges. In the “Brainduino” album each moment intricately weaves into the next, evoking a range of emotions and thought-provoking experiences, transcending traditional track structures to immerse the listener in a transformative musical odyssey. Nuances of early Pete Namlook’s ambient works evoke in a fusion of downtempo, electronica, experimental, and ambient sounds.

Released through the sub-label entity of Childhood Intelligence - the “DREAMS” label and its 5th release, presents an ethereal embrace of technology and humanity, a psychotronic avant-garde experimentation that finds solace in the unexplored abyss of the mind, daring listeners to dive deep into their own psyches and the fusion of human & technology.

UK DJ and producer Rohan Walder, a.k.a. Randomer furthers his exploration into deep, spatial techno on Dekmantel’s UFO imprint. Fusing together two-step rhythms, cavernous beats, distortion, layered kicks, and an attentive detail to sound design, Randomer delivers an uncompromising array of abstract, yet destructive techno tracks. 

Randomer’s approach to techno has always mantained a bassier, obtuse approach to sound, with polyrhythm beats that have helped set his sonic identity apart from his peers. Having released the Running Dry EP on DKMNTL UFO in 2016, Randomer is firmly establishing himself as one of the label’s favourite artists, with a resounding appearance at the Dekmantel festival in São Paulo, and a prime slot awaiting for him in the UFO tent at this year’s festival in Amsterdam.

The latest EP by the UK producer kicks off with 'Van Pelt', which skips on the off-beat at just over 130bmp, and textured with kicks that sound like two robust, metal dumpsters being hit together. Littered in the background are gongs, random percussive sounds, and something very alien, making it the perfect track for the UFO tent. 'Shadow Harp' is quintessential techno, with yet more thudding, dark-kicks layered against a syncopated plucked and jarring bass. 'Dissolve' drip and oozes with a sunken undercurrent of dystopic-melancholy, driving in ruptured reverb with a tribal percussive foundation. Final track 'Slicing’ dares to take things a little further, as the rounded-hollow kicks punctuate against more metallic, and analogue sounds - like a war of machines, set to a rhythm of abstract, free-flowing gust of techno cuts. Throughout the four-tracks, Randomer showcases his innate ability to excite and surprise with dynamism, and cutting sounds, with a technique that has been well-honed throughout the years. As he stated in an interview with Resident Advisor in 2016; “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”

Having launched in 2016, DKMNTL UFO has released critical cuts from Peter Van Hoesen, Anthony Parasole, and Voiski.
