The Violet Hour is the exclusive project of Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara and Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau, for Berlin imprint Cocktail d’Amore. 
One Morning In The Future takes over the A side. A total dancefloor pleaser. Treating us with Chicago house-inspired drums and that kind of cosmic pads that make any seasoned raver jump and kiss a nearby stranger. The intensity never stops growing - with new melodic strings appearing unexpectedly, projecting the track to the rings of Saturn.
An involving italo-classic bassline characterizes Ultraviolet, together with an explosive layering of synthy melodies. The B2 Prisoner Of Love is a seductive dialogue between synthesizers and classic piano, resulting in a comforting, romantic piece of cosmic disco. These two tracks illuminate feelings of looking at a violet sky, but with different attitudes: the first pushes into the unknown looking for a happy ending, while the second is nostalgic and tender.
The Violet Hour is an evergreen example of contemporary man-machine lovemaking.

They say the devil has many faces and that may be true but who would have thought that all these faces could be so attractive…. so captivating and so strange. For this collection of different versions of tracks from the critically acclaimed ‘Circus’ album (2011), Black Devil Disco Club has persuaded others to reveal their devilish personas whilst also revealing more of his own. 

And what a mysterious collection of music we have….from NZCA/LINES synthetic romance, Junior Claristidge’ futuristic space jams, Ed DMX’s cold wave chills, Leo Zero’s Star Wars disco, Eckman’s Mozart in Orbit opus, Sauvage’s amazing freak folk hoedown and of course the Devil’s own dubs, which strip away the original layers to reveal a glittering diamond skeleton. Including “Stay In Dub” a pure 6-minute long journey into the devil's world, a psychedelic bridge between past and future.

Since his re emergence in 2006, Black Devil has proven himself to be a master of electronic music, ‘the Ennio Morricone of disco’. His music has been described as being like ‘Joy Division produced by Giorgio Moroder’ and it came as no surprise when so many legendary figures agreed to work with him on the original ‘Circus’ album. You’ll find some of them like Nancy Sinatra, The Horrors, Afrika Bambaata and Jon Spencer on this album….lost in the ‘Magnetic Circus’.

Over the past few years, Palms Trax has cemented his place on the Dekmantel roster and become one of the family. His upbeat attitude and knack for selection have made Jay Donaldson one of the scene’s most in-demand and warmly regarded selectors. Combining rare, globally-sourced finds with exuberant house anthems, his annual sets at Dekmantel Festival have showed a nearly unmatched capacity for filling floors and creating grooves. Now, the UK producer puts his talents to work on To Paradise, tapping classic Italo, wave and Balearic house for an EP that has summertime written all over it.

Title track "To Paradise" kicks things off with an infectious, melodic chorus that spirals into a pulsing rhythm. It’s full of those 'hand-in-the-air' type moments, and topped with blissful vibes. "Love In Space" follows with a throbbing bassline melded with rich atmospheres. It’s more Adriatic than Balearic, careening with an anthemic affection and destined for festival season. "Heron" veers away from the Italo vibes and standard structures that hold regular dance tracks together. A departure into more experimental electronics, the dynamics are controlled through rhythms and the synthesised melodies create forlorn narratives across machine-driven sequences. It's a dynamic finish to this considered and perfectly timed trio of offerings.

It's that time of year again when we get excited for the release of @LAGASTA's annual Late Summer Compilation. One of our own favourite blogs they are now up to volume 9 of this excellent series. Packed with their favourite cuts from the last year along with a few extremely tasty exclusives it will be available on their bandcamp for Free this coming Monday.

Our premier today comes courtesy of Italian producer Fabrizio Mammarella who is also behind the Slow Motion &l Wrong Era labels. Unit is a 10 minute epic electronic odyssey. It's hard to put into words just how good this track is with beautifully crafted synths, classic drums, it ebbs and flows beautifully carrying the listener along with it. Just check it out. You wont be disappointed.
