Em formato B2B IF THIS IS! são os Djs Fran Piovesan e Lucio Kahara desbravando a House Music e seus subgêneros como ideia central. A dupla busca sonoridades dançantes voltadas para as pistas. Música eletrônica que vem do Underground, misturado com Jazzy House, Acid House, Afro House, NuDisco, Electro, Italo, Techno e etc... Fran Piovesan, jornalista de formação e produtor de moda, discoteca desde 2011 e atualmente é residente do Doma Club e do Grupo Press. Lucio Kahara, Designer Gráfico e DJ desde o final dos anos 90, durante 9 anos produziu e tocou na Festa Neon, no qual trouxe vários artistas internacionais para se apresentar em Porto Alegre.

Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Simo Cell: "It's 7pm, and I have 5 missed calls on my phone: 'We're expecting massive rain tonight and we will have to close your stage earlier, is it okay for you to play earlier?' No time to stress and to think about it. I left my place and started my set straight away. From a few people to a packed dancefloor, I built up slowly from 90bpm to 160bpm (you know the drill). Pretty happy about the progression of the set and the rise in intensity. In the end, the crowd turned into a mosh pit on XXXtentacion and I had the best time behind the decks. It's good when things sometimes happen spontaneously like that. And it didn't rain after all."

Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Fafi Abdel Nour: "At first, I was quite anxious about everything, but having lots of familiar faces around made me feel at ease. It has been a long time since I felt comfortable enough to dance during my own set and it's a feeling that I don't want to let go anymore! Still buzzing from it."

Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Skatebård: "I hope this recording can give you an idea of the vibe of the Beach stage at Selectors. And for those who were there, a snapshot of how it was actually like.
For me it felt like a lot of the music I like to play was made for moments like that night right there."

"Felt very unreal – after almost 2 years of not playing – to be back behind the decks in an abstract, tropical scenery like Selectors. The first 30 minutes were just realising what was actually happening. After that, it was time to finally play and enjoy the tunes that were burning in my mind for the entire year and a half."

Lucien & The Kimono Orchestra opens a music box whose a single turn of the key is enough to project towards blue and haggard mornings spent wandering in an old cinematographic Paris. First leap in the 80s, Connection sets the scene like an opening theme. The single Fresh Start follows everything in voice and indelible gimmicks. Horizon, sung in French, is a delicate nod to the great giants of the song Berger Chamfort or Souchon style. To catch his breath between two actions, the instrumental track Georges comes then to constitute a sizeable interlude. Shell, is English and welcomes a chalouped rhythm, as if to once again extend the range of influences. As a final tableau, the impetuous chanted declamation, the frantic guitar riffs and the irresistible atmosphere conferred on the piece make Asile the splendid highlight of this second release of the quartet.

#45 - LUCIEN & THE KIMONO ORCHESTRA

Over the past few years electro has made it's way back into hearts and record bags; finding a new generation of discerning fans and spotlighting a shed load of young talented producers.

One of the labels at the forefront of this revival is Mechatronica, a Berlin-based imprint who seek to explore the relationship between man and machine. Danish-born Casper Mejlholm, who moonlights under the guise of Mejle, makes up part of the quartet of DJs, producers, designers and all-round music lovers that founded the label, and now party series, in the German capital. Having released music from the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Innershades, The Exaltics and Sync 24, it's evident that Mejle's ear for interesting, emotive and powerful electro is more refined than most. 

He takes the reigns for this week's 'Shine A Light On' mix, an hour of machine-driven electro with a few upcoming Mechatronica releases thrown in for good measure...
