"I feel that this set is a good representation of the tunes I like to rep, with a contrast of moods and dynamic style of mixing. The first 10-15 min section is quite memorable for me, as I was really enjoying the energy the tunes were bringing out of each other. The third tune, which is from Florentino, is quite an upfront percussive banger, but when it comes in from the DJ Boss tune it’s just got a straight-up sexy quality, haha. Then the Youngsta tune after it just amplifies the hype. Plus: I got to give a shout to re:ni as I got very, very hyped playing one of her new bits! The Sputnik One bit sounding bloody epic too, and I played 3 tunes from Amor Satyr/Siu Mata – so I got to give him a special mention too!"

Mike plays live as a solo artist and now makes up 1/3 of the exciting new band Trickpony, made up of Roza Terenzi, Emkay & Mike himself. 

Beyond his knack for weaving tear-jerkingly beautiful trip hop infused songs - Mike is also a great DJ. Here, with a more club-oriented mix, he showcases his taste & talent, a BTS look into the genres & moods that make up the mind of the talented artist.

Cairo-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and live performer @azemad is an artist whose sets span from club cuts to introspective vocal work and lush melodic textures. His 2022 EP Afriki on Berlin’s @awkscl showcases a unique fusion of sharp percussion, moody verses and brooding basslines, a sonic palette rooted in emotional depth and cultural hybridity.

Azemad’s work is defined by curiosity, warmth and boundaryless exploration. This Body Verse set is no different, a personal and kinetic transmission from an artist whose practice is as technically detailed as it is deeply felt.

Back with the fifteenth instalment of We Don’t Stop, We Won’t Stop on @radioalhara where I’m joined by the incredibly talented @anahita27 - based in Naarm, she has been quickly carving out her niche with emotionally charged, genre defying sets. Rising through her Eora/Sydney-based music collective ‘Synergy’, Anahita is driven by a passion for creativity across all artistic mediums, channeling her heritage with an experimental traversion of diasporic identity.

This month’s selection is based deep down in the grottos of wadi kadisha in Lebanon, where Anahita takes us on a dark journey to the intersection of hope, tension and catharsis.
