FD shows off his dynamic range in this week's mix, expertly weaving together bass-lines and R&B melodies from ukg to drum & bass. Packed with plenty of soulful flavours to set us up for the week ahead and keep us dreaming of the incoming summer!

It's been a minute since we released his 2019 live recording from the final fort takeover with The North Quarter and 1985 Music, since then FD's been busy in the studio working on a new EP; 'A Vision Of Hope' available this Friday 19th March 2021. FD - Outlook Mix Series

Three hours of garage, dubstep, grime, hardcore, jungle and techno recorded on a Sunday evening at 121 in Wellington for the Friendly Potential crew. At their request I tried to play with the energy of the old Sunday night sessions at FWD>>, and it was so fun. Old and new music side by side. Spinbacks at 2008 levels. 

Big thanks to everyone involved in this incredible trip to New Zealand and Australia, especially the Friendly Potential crew who made the whole thing possible. It was wonderful to play music again, and I hope to be back soon.

We've been big fans of Coco's presence in dancefloor music for a while now. Relative to what we've had in stock so far, this is a very refreshing take on presenting music to the human/dancer ear. As part of the celebrations to launch Miche's 'With Love Volume 1' compilation; four of us (post-club night)crammed into the back of a Mini Cooper for a road trip from East London to Manchester for a 5-hour listening-bar session. A relaxed and carefree set, saw us selecting recent finds and old favourites across the soul, disco, gospel, AOR, Brazilian, and jazz-funk genres. 

NAM, is a wonderful Vietnamese restaurant set in the heart of Manchester. It boasts some of the best food we've had in a while and features an awesome Hi-Fi system with an Isonoe mixer situated in a cosy basement.

1/ Beverly Glenn-Copeland - Colors Of Anyhow - GRT Canada 1970 
This I already know that you like :) As I dug it up for you when we spent time together at Superfly in Paris some weeks ago! Such a beautiful LP. Was making sense to start the selection with it.

2/ France Gall - Musique - Atlantic France 1977
Most french people know this track, but as you're german.. there's a chance you've never heard of it! Let's see.. Amazing french disco.. A hit back in the days, overlooked by 'boring diggers' as "too mainstream" maybe, but great music - that's all we care about! I had to put something from my homeland in this selection :)

3/ Rosana - Muito Independente - Odeon Brazil 1978
As we were talking about Brazilian music the other day when I almost made you miss your flight to Leeds! I'm sure you gonna love this little 7inch! Love Rosana's voice!!

4/ Patrice Jefferson - Look Mama, No Hands! - Niambi Records USA
Pretty rare one I believe. I'm sure this will put a smile on your face!

5/ Carol Shinnete With The Concrete Band - Cyanide Love - Zilko Records USA 1984
One for the weasels! Ebay-Popsike & co.. The music in itself: one of my fave boogie tunes! You probably know this.. Anyway.. I'm sure it's your cup of tea!

6/ The Harden Brothers - Deep Inside Of You - H.B. Productions USA 1981
Ok I'm ending this selection with some heavy stuff. Can't remember if I mentioned this one last time we saw each other or not.. Was worth including it anyway!

Next up in our Record Club guest mix series is Sam Don, the man behind one of our favourite compilations of 2020 ‘For The Love of You’. Sam has kindly put together this exclusive mix for us - just in time for NYE!
