No stranger to the scene, having run Dublin party Flipside which featured guests such as S.O.N.S, PLO Man and Brian Not Brian over the years, whilst also playing as resident DJ at Izakaya Bar, Kav's versatility as an artist shines through in this 2+ hour long mix moving between spacey ambient to downtempo breaks and leftfield house.

Placid_88 gives us an education in Deep House. A mix comprised of 90's U.S. House, yes the real stuff. The sound-definition of the long contested sub-genre, finally gets the clarification it deserves. Deep from start to finish, this mix takes you on a journey through the groove, introducing you to things you may not have heard before; Placid_88 calls it The Gateway Mix.

"I've been buying electronic music since 1989 and I'm still in love with it. Resident DJ for one of London’s longest running Acid house nights, behind a 14.5k Facebook group for crate diggers called We’re Going Deep, and I'm just about to release the first 12” under a label with the same name [We're Going Deep]."

"About the mix, while a lot of the UK was dancing away to UK hardcore, I was immersing myself in the rich immersive sounds of U.S. house. This mix is a peek into those sounds. Mostly from the early 90's but with a few newer ones. I tried to maintain the depth and warmth those records give. I called it a gateway mix as I intend to use it to introduce people to the sound of house, though they may not like it for one reason or another. Time will tell if it works or not".
