Who is Jay Johnson...???

Nathaniel Johnson, better known as “Jay”, is a producer, composer, beat maker, song writer and DJ. Jay’s exposure to various genres of music in his life influenced his eclectic style. His love of music was inspired by his sister Demetrice aka “Dee”for whom he aptly named his production company, Dee Street Productions. Dee used to bring Jay and his brother out on the apartment fire escapes in the Bronx to catch a bird's-eye view of the DJs and MCs rocking the crowds. Later, the family moved to Atlanta, where the scenery and music was different. This is where Jay was schooled on Funk, Soul and R&B. Jay then embarked on a 20+ year career in the Armed Forces. Traveling around the globe allowed Jay to experience various styles of music and sounds. Currently, Jay resides in the Midwest – more specifically, Missouri. Jay’s passion for his craft can be felt through his music, creating a sound that’s unique, different and fresh. That’s Jay.
