Canadian born (and a Toronto resident), MoSS may be a new name to some in the music game, but his production credits are instantly recognizable and have resulted in over 2 million record sales worldwide. Ghostface Killah’s smash hit “Kilos”, Raekwon’s ”Have Mercy”, Obie Trice’s entire Special Reserve album and most recently a collaborative album with Eternia (At Last which was released on Fatbeats).

MoSS got his first taste of notoriety by working with Obie Trice (Shady Records) around 2000. Moss was producing records for Obie, including both his independent singles ”Well Known” and the 12” “Mr. Trice,” which created the buzz that eventually led to Obie’s major label deal. Since then, MoSS has produced for a long list of “who’s who” in the hip hop world, including: Joell Ortiz, Ghostface, Papoose, Peedi Crack, The Game, Slum Village, Boot Camp Clik, Red Cafe, Mr Easy, AZ, Bounty Killa, D-Block (Styles P and Sheek Louch), Termanology, Big Shug, M.O.P., Kool G. Rap, Ras Kass, Omilio Sparks, Proof of D12 and the list goes on.

A former member of DJ Premier’s production label, “Works of Mart”, as Premier’s first ever production signee, MoSS is not only an emcee’s producer, but a producer’s producer as well. Recognized by an elite group in his field, he is known by many as a true “record digger.” Having assisted on price guides, rare record books and various musical anthologies, MoSS eventually started his own reissue label, Strawberry Rain, which specializes in re-releasing rare psychedelic music from around the world, including countries like Indonesia, Iran, France; and even Zambia where he travelled to find records and artists. Strawberry Rain has gained recognition across the globe and has been singled-out by a veritable slew of major media publications.

While his production work for other artists has resulted in him being recognized by outlets such as Rolling Stone, Spin, People and more, today, MoSS officially unveils his debut album, Marching To The Sound Of My Own Drum, which will be released on 11-13-15 and features appearances from Joe Budden, DJ Premier, AZ, Joell Ortiz, Sean Price, Jon Connor, Skyzoo, Inspectah Deck, Ill Bill, Havoc, Onyx, Slum Village, Willie The Kid, Guilty Simpson, Termanology, Peedi Crakk, Slaine and others.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement.[1] He is best known for being an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.[2] King has become a national icon in the history of modern American liberalism.[3]
A Baptist minister, King became a civil rights activist early in his career.[4] He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, serving as its first president. King's efforts led to the 1963 March on Washington, where King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. There, he expanded American values to include the vision of a color blind society, and established his reputation as one of the greatest orators in American history.
In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other nonviolent means. By the time of his death in 1968, he had refocused his efforts on ending poverty and stopping the Vietnam War.
King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. federal holiday in 1986.

WBLS VP/General Manager Deon Levingston says: “WBLS and WRKS have been the voice of the tri-state black community for 30 years and we plan to merge the best of both stations to create a stronger voice to deliver the best in R&B music while also super serving our community.”

Starting today at10am and throughout the weekend, 107.5 WBLS and 98.7 KISS FM will celebrate the legacy of 98.7 KISS FM by celebrating the music and impact of 98.7 KISS FM on both stations.  Listen today to 107.5 WBLS or 98.7 KISS FM to hear Shaila live from 10a-3pm, Jeff Foxx from 3pm-7pm and Lenny Green from 7pm-12am as we celebrate 30 years of KISS FM.

The music and thecommunity of NYC will come together Monday, April 30th at 12AM and the legacy of WRKS will continue as midday air personality Shaila and night air personality Lenny Greene join the WBLS family.  Shaila will occupy the mid-day shift from 10a-3pm and Lenny Green will continue in the evenings from 7pm-12am.

Emmis New York SVP/General Manager Alexandra Cameron adds: "I extend my gratitude and deepest thanks to the many special peoplethat created the memories and sense of community that KISS FM delivered for 30 years. November 9, 1993 will forever go down as one of the greatest days in hip hop history.  Two of the genre’s most revered albums dropped on the same day:  Wu-Tang Clan’s debut ‘Enter The 36 Chambers’, &  A Tribe Called Quest’s third LP ‘Midnight Marauders’.  I remember riding my bike to the mall, with money I had earned from my after-school job.  I had anticipated this day for awhile, and saved up in advance to pick up both albums (at that age $40 felt like $500).  For the months that followed, both albums fought for playing time on my boombox.  One moment, I was transported to the boulevard of Linden, and the next to the rugged streets of Shaolin.  Those albums stayed in my rotation forever (literally).
To mark the 25th anniversary of both LP’s, I thought it might be a good idea to try and take the vocals from Wu-Tang’s album, and blend them over the instrumentals from Midnight Marauders.  I wasn’t sure it would work at first, but as is usually the case, inspiration hit at midnight when I was trying to sleep (the coincidence of the timing is not lost on me).  A couple of hours later, I managed to pair up every single Wu-Tang vocal with a suitable beat from MM.  The intent was not to improve on the originals in any way….that would be impossible, as I consider them both to be perfect bodies of work.  Rather, it was about orchestrating a fun concept, and putting a totally new spin on these well-worn classics.  The contrast of Wu’s gritty street raps over Tribe’s jazzy production works in an unexpected way.  Now, I present to you my personal tribute to these legendary groups:   A Clan Called Wu - “Enter The Marauders”.
