So now you find that you’ve seen, not as much as you thought you had.
Maybe your life hasn’t earned you the right, to feel that bad.
Just take a hard look around, not too far and you might see.
Life and love and hope and faith might be what you need.

When you were young no one ever promised you anything
So satisfied just to have some peace, and somewhere to dream
Days you remember that seemed like they might never end
Lost in your head didn’t matter if you had a single friend

Don’t know where the dreams end and how much is real
Hard to say if you lied, you sure had to steal

Too proud sometimes, so bitter and hard to please
Like a dog that got kicked don’t you know that you’ll never be free?
Could be the voices inside of your head won’t let you hear a thing
