Tonight the winds are howling and the rain keeps on pouring down. When the weather is bad I like to play songs about inclement conditions, this would be one of them, my cover of Rainsong by Led Zeppellin. If you listen carefully you can hear the rain outside hitting my back door especially at the quietest part of the song. Those were all natural effects. Its just a little rain. =)

Rainsong

A memorable night, earlier this week my friend Todd Goodnough and I performed in front of an audience together for the first time, this is the recording of the first song we played. As you will hear for yourself, Todd is a habitual face melter on the electric. I'm holding down the rhythm on my Taylor acoustic. Winners and Losers

My first time ever on a stage!! Big thanks to Jim Roy for calling me up to play a couple of songs with Blues Stew during last weekend's Seiad Valley Days party! It was a beautiful night, the people were out and ready to have some fun, and there I was, jamming along side such a talented group of blues musicians! That was some good times I won't ever forget! Luckily we've got the audio, check it out, that's me playin rhythm guitar and singing the blues!  =)

My first original tune. This is the first recording made, captured the next morning after writing it. Pretty raw demo, done live and in one take using Beat Buddy drum pedal, Boss RC-2 looper, Harmony Singer foot pedal for harmonies, and played on an acoustic guitar, '64 Gibson J-50 I think. Pardon the sound, this is a cell phone recording. Hope u enjoy it :)

My tribute to Robert Plant, inspired by my Sara. It's funny to me how I just learned this song last night but was still able to do a pretty decent recording this morning. Well I've loved this song for the better part of my life so I suppose the song ended up playing me. Led Zeppelin - pioneers of the power ballad!! Ha ha  :)

Me singing and playing a song on my new '09 Taylor 716ce spring limited in Madagascar rosewood! I'm lovin' this guitar! It has a great low end which inspired me to learn this kind of bluegrass sounding song. The song is based on a true story from back in the 1920's about this guy, Frank Dupree, who being defenseless to his gal Betty's female specific powers of persuasion, ultimately found himself in some really big trouble when an attempt to illegally appropriate a diamond ring for her went bad. "That jelly roll will drive you stone mad!" :)


Recorded on my Olympus LS-11 handheld voice recorder. My Ultrasound CP100 acoustic amp was turned on and a mic caught some of the sound in the room. Kind of wished I hadn't had the amp on but oh well... hope you enjoy it anyway! :)

Dupree's Diamond Blues

So happy my SF 49ers are going back to the NFC Championship Game!! With that came the inspiration to record myself playing guitar and singing my new favorite song San Francisco Rain written by Grahame Lesh. Grahame is an up and coming musician and talented song writer you are sure to hear more about in the years ahead. I recently heard Grahame for the first time a couple weeks ago while on holiday in Sacramento. His band American Jubilee opened for the Mother Hips and after hearing his song, San Francisco Rain, I knew I had to learn how to play it. Big thanks to Grahame for sharing his chords with me!
