Me and my friend Doug Meinert jamming at my house, we captured this on my handheld voice recorder, love how it came out, especially considering Doug had never even played the song before! Cover of John Hiatt's "Feels Like Rain". Give it a listen, I think you will enjoy, I know we did!  :)

Feels Like Rain feat. Doug Meinert

Tonight the winds are howling and the rain keeps on pouring down. When the weather is bad I like to play songs about inclement conditions, this would be one of them, my cover of Rainsong by Led Zeppellin. If you listen carefully you can hear the rain outside hitting my back door especially at the quietest part of the song. Those were all natural effects. Its just a little rain. =)

Me singing and playing a song on my new '09 Taylor 716ce spring limited in Madagascar rosewood! I'm lovin' this guitar! It has a great low end which inspired me to learn this kind of bluegrass sounding song. The song is based on a true story from back in the 1920's about this guy, Frank Dupree, who being defenseless to his gal Betty's female specific powers of persuasion, ultimately found himself in some really big trouble when an attempt to illegally appropriate a diamond ring for her went bad. "That jelly roll will drive you stone mad!" :)


Recorded on my Olympus LS-11 handheld voice recorder. My Ultrasound CP100 acoustic amp was turned on and a mic caught some of the sound in the room. Kind of wished I hadn't had the amp on but oh well... hope you enjoy it anyway! :)
