4 Hands, an intimate and surreal musical conversation on the piano, is an example of all the warm yet otherworldly beauty that can come from approaching a shared love for a singular instrument from overlapping directions.

Recorded sequentially but on one and the same grand piano, Roedelius laid down a few impromptu piano études in May 2019 whilst visiting his transatlantic friend Story. Tim then learned all their intricate phrasings to add his own parts in the following months. 4 Hands encapsulates rippling minimalistic patterns and delicate, ghostly interactions with surprising harmonic twists. Roedelius’ intuitive and instinctive approach based in improvisation, paired hand in hand with Story’s deliberate distilling of ideas over time, creates two sides of an engaging and thought-provoking conversation that seems to evolve and deepen with each successive listen.

The first single Spirit Clock received its name from Erased Tapes founder Robert Raths, born out of a conversation around timing: “to me this term perfectly describes what’s going on here. There is this invisible bond, this very strong energy between Ach and Tim whenever they make music together that’s still perfectly intact even when they are dimensions apart. This metaphysical intersection of four hands on one and the same mechanical instrument at different times, something so technical yet deeply spiritual, is what fascinates me.”

Dronarivm sums up the year 2013 with '15 Shades of White' CD compilation.  15 tracks that are different in atmosphere and sound are united by a common winter mood.  Winter is a favorite season of philosophers and introvert dreamers, a territory of remembrances and quiet reflections, where nonlinear time allows to bring together the disparate fragments of memories and create a multi-layered collage of pieces of the future, present and past.  Neoclassical pianos, hypnotic strings, light strokes and soft undertones leave a quirky musical pattern on the glass of eternity. Erik K Skodvin & Rauelsson - The Return

Lost in Translation is my diversion from a career as a film composer. Having worked on films like Green Book, Dear White People, and other Netflix shows, I wanted create a solo album with musicians that I admired, in spaces that inspired me. The project was recorded in Los Angeles and mixed and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. The violin soloist on this track is from the highly-acclaimed Calder Quartet in Los Angeles.

Lost in Translation reflects my efforts in this project to translate my musical thoughts into sonic audio. On film projects, I'm consistently inspired by breathtaking visuals and amazing performances; these visual cues inspire the music in my head. For this project I had none of that. Only abstract concepts and experimentations that gradually came together by piecing together fragments of audio and discovering what aspects of music I was drawn to, and how to bridge the gap between classical, commercial, and film music.
