Believe the hype: One of Catz 'n Dogz most popular tracks enjoys a widescreen, full flavour remix boost with a host of exciting new reinterpretations from Sebra Cruz, Alan Dixon, Vhyce and Nowheretobefound.

A beautiful emotional trip, built around the instantly disarming dulcet tones of Jono McCleery, 'Would You Believe' was one of the runaway success stories of Polish duo Catz 'n Dogz' fourth studio album 'Friendship'. Released just over two years ago, in October 2019, it's remained a Pets favourite ever since, racking up over 2 million streams on Spotify alone.

'We love this track, this is one of our most successful songs, its often on the radio and people ask about it all the time. That's why we were thinking to refresh it a bit and ask our friends to remix it.'

The 'Friendship' gift that keeps on giving, 'Would You Believe' has undergone a full refresh across the board with new styles and vibes from close friends of the label, each one suiting a different chapter of the night.

Ex-Margot member Sebra Cruz sets us on our merry way with a chilled a dubby intro that suddenly breaks out into an ardent piano-slapping house bomb waiting to explode. He's swiftly followed by Alan Dixon who maintains that buoyancy and positivity across two incendiary versions - a firing club version and a beautiful reprise for those special creative mixing moments.

Looking for a more sober, heavy-gravity take on Jono's voice and Catz N Dogz original? Jump on the deep dub science of Nowheretobefound, the latest off-piste exploit from Polish D&B artist Satl's new side alias. Last but not least, Vhyce returns to the label to make us float again with his two highly cosmic deep, synthy house takes.

No cut covering the same ground, each cut shining a whole new light on the original, this is the way remix packages should be. You better believe it.

Friday Island completes its slate of releases for the year with a debut from Spanish-based UK artist Stefan Cordery, who returns with his first EP in a decade featuring two deep and melodic prog tracks, including top tier remixes from Hobin Rude and Nomad in the Dark.

Before taking a step back from production, Stefan previously ran record label Kinetic Groove and had releases and remixes on the likes of Kindisch and Menomale.

First up on the EP is ‘Indalo’, a Digweed-inspired melodic prog roller with a dark hypnotic arp and deep sustained bass that builds into the break and unleashes a spellbinding tribal chant that keeps the groove moving along.

On the flip is ‘Reetah’, another deep and melodic late night prog roller with a Reese-style bass, dreamy synths and rhythmic vocal chop that carries the track through to its climax. Rising Serbian prog star Hobin Rude delivers his debut remix for Friday Island, a dancefloor-
destroying take on ‘Indalo’ that builds his trademark wide-screen pads and infectious bass groove around the original’s hypnotic arp and vocal.

Finally, Friday Island regular Nomad in the Dark is back with another massive remix that reworks ‘Reetah’ by combining squelchy filtered bass, rhythmic stabs and huge vocal pads that build into an epic synth lead that dials the track up to 11.

Friday Island is a new progressive house label inspired by the magic of the early 2000s but with an eye firmly on pushing the future of the sound. Friday Island’s mission is to make music for dark sweaty rooms and those cosmic 3am dancefloor moments when you forget
where you are.

Joining DGTL Records’ impressive roster of artists, Dutch-Morrocan DJ/Producer ‘Elias Mazian’ is the latest addition to the label. Succeeding his debut Dutch synth-pop album launched earlier this year, the 3 track ‘All Night’ EP is a much awaited release in the house genre. The new EP is set to release on the 22nd of January, 2021.

With ‘All Night’, the Dutchman ventures back into predominantly house territory, inspired by Chicago house producers like Boo Williams with a side of New Jersey and the NYC ballroom influences. The EP features 2 original tracks, ‘Please Don’t Break It’ and ‘All Night’, plus a dizzying remix by British-Chilean DJ Shanti Celeste. The two artists know each other well, and their collaboration on the track is the final piece in the puzzle to making this EP whole.

The EP’s origins began with Mazian dancing in sweaty clubs on sunny mornings and blissful afternoons. He explains it as being locked in a groove to such an extent, that dancing feels like breathing - you don’t want it to end. This feeling of longing is strongly connected to his production process. With just a few synths, Mazian’s work creates melodies that just keep going. In his words ‘I tried to create loops you can never get sick of’.

The first track on the EP ‘Please Don’t Break It’, is an embodiment of this. It’s housy percussion at it’s best, merged with a magnetic groove. Mazian describes the track as holding onto a moment. The second track ‘All Night’ is one for the clubs. Inspired by the urge to dance all night, the up-tempo house record is reminiscent of all the scenes associated with the dancefloor. The remix is delivered by Shanti Celeste, who earlier this year released an album on her own ‘Peach Discs’ label. Her reimagining of the track encapsulates the early-morning-meets-afterparty sound, and is another reason as to why she is at the top of her game lately.

The artwork of the EP has been designed by Tasso Okinawa, known for his VJ work at DGTL. He is currently curating the artwork series for DGTL Records.
