The "Friday Flex" show is a programme dedicated to supporting local Leicester, UK and international talent from music of black origin and urban culture. The show plays music from many different urban music genres including Hip-Hop, R&B, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, Dubstep, UK Garage and much more. The show is presented by Vijay Umrao (Veej) and Sushil Umrao (Sush) along with members of the community who want to gain experience in the radio industry.

From a very young age Vijay has been a big fan of urban music and culture, one of his childhood dreams came true when he became a member of the EAVA FM management team. He then founded and began presenting the "Friday Flex". The first live broadcast was on the last Friday of February 2012.

Sushil joined Vijay on the show from October 2012 bringing with him a different style and persona. Sushil's musical tastes include Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, Jungle, Drum & Bass, and Dubstep. Vijay’s musical tastes include Hip Hop, R&B, UK Garage and enjoys all music of black origin. Working together, the two presenters have developed a show which is informative, funny, topical and positive.

Both presenters strongly believe in "Unity" and "Community Cohesion". Whilst the UK urban scene tends to be the main focus area of the show, the "Friday Flex" also presents music from the international music scene.

The show has regular guests who come into the EAVA FM studios for in depth interviews. Guests have included local artists such as Dragonhearts, Killa T, Worlds Apart, Triix, Boss Man, Shot 21, Kerfew, Loaneski, John Maveric, Emperorfari Sound System and K.Y. We have also welcomed Vega from South Africa, J-Sol, Bay-C from globally renowned dancehall group T.O.K, MMA Battle Arena and the legendary reggae artist Dawn Penn.

The show tries to capture the Friday night feeling by playing a range of feel good music for the listeners tuning in. The team always encourage listeners to contact the show with any shout outs, requests or dedications. The passion of the presenters, along with the selection of music and the audience participation all play key roles in the success of the show.

"Friday Flex" is also helping artists and the urban culture scene by attending events and performances such as Notting Hill Carnival, Hysteria, Mixed Martial Arts, One Dub and other live shows and events.

After the interviews and live shows an article, photos and a short video is produced and published online to encourage future events and to help community cohesion within the urban scene.

Humzah Loane commonly recognised as Loaneski is a rapper who hails from Leicester, UK and was born on the 8th of July 1991. At the age of 8 he started to show an interest in music by writing lyrics and at the age of 16 he began to vocal instrumentals and make music.
He is mostly known for his lyrics, as many people have described them to be ‘conscious’ focusing on his past/present experiences and current affairs. He has also been described as a rapper who projects his words with ‘conviction’ and somebody who you can clearly see has a passion for music. He first displayed his talent on a solo project entitled ‘Birth of a new star’ which was an album and he was also the founder of one of Leicester’s most noticeable groups ‘Bizznezz Fam’.
Whilst being part of Bizznezz Fam, He released 5 projects; two of which were group mixtapes (Street Star Mixtape and Capcon Vol.1), two solo mixtapes (Lyrical Slaughter and Iron Monkey Mixtape) and another solo album (Poetry from an Asian perspective) whilst being signed to a record label called Xlusive Records, which he left at the age of 19.
Unfortunately, after 6 years the group decided to go their separate ways, however Loaneski continued with his musical journey. On the 8th of November 2014, Loaneski released his debut EP ‘Black Thoughts’ which caught the attention of several media outlets; Young Celebrity News (magazine), After Nyne (magazine), Leicester Mercury (newspaper tabloid), De Montfort University (Online article), as well as being played on several local Leicester radio stations; EAVA FM 102.5 (Friday Flex Show and The Young People’s Show), Demon FM 107.5 (Beats, Rhymes & Soul) and Radio2Funky.
On the 29th of May 2016, Loaneski supported P Money (Grime artist) at the first ever Friday Flex Showcase held at the Music Café in Leicester. On the 21st of September 2017, whilst Lowkey was touring the UK, Loaneski supported him alongside Mic Righteous and Awate when he came to Leicester. Towards the end of 2017, Loaneski released his second Solo EP entitled ‘Lone Wolf’ working with producers AbeoMusic, DJ RadioHead Beats, G.Lewis and Flowfullsoundz. All tracks were mixed and mastered by Adam Lewis Mixing.
