Chief engineer @ Capitalsound studio Adelaide, James (Jimmy) balderston. Since gaining a degree from the Queensland conservatorium of music I has been working as a full time engineer since 2005. Working as the in house engineer at studio 454 in brisbane, the mud hut studio on the Gold Coast and now at Capitalsound Studios in Adelaide I have worked on over 500 projects in that time. As well as being an experienced engineer, I am also an accomplished drummer with almost 20 years of playing experience in various bands around the country. Mostly known for my raw and old school style of production I has worked with bands such as asecretdeath, robotosaurus, Idylls, scott kelly (neurosis), paper arms, Grim Fandango, Coerce, The Gift Horse, Stolen Youth, nighthag, grenadiers, Gay Paris, God God Dammit Dammit, Hightime, Hopeless, Spacebong, The Weight, Dangerous! sex wizard, the Broderick, the amity affliction, shot.point.blank, Against and many many more gaining a ARIA nomination for coerce's ethereal surrogate saviour, a Music Oz award for asecretdeath's fear is the driving force and getting an appearance on the cover of Australian Recording Techniques magazine.
