DJ and Producer George Vector began his journey into the world of house music with a box of vintage vinyl dance music that he found at a garage sale. Growing up listening to anything from techno to hip-hop, his musical taste began developing. When Daft Punk and Cassius started hitting the charts in the late nineties, George knew this was the kind of music he wanted to do. "I love how the music of those artist always picked up on such a wide range of influences, but still managed to keep it optimized for the dancefloor, says George. I always loved listening to remixes and bootlegs growing up as they explored directions of a song that was somewhat different and somtimes more interesting than the mainstream radio versions. It still fascinates me how the listening experience is so different on a dancefloor compared to lets say your car stereo, office radio, or even when you listen at home. On the dancefloor you need another toolkit and more intense sound canvas as a producer to succeed, and a good DJ knows instantly what parts of a song will work when playing in front of a crowd. These days I try to always incorporate somthing people haven't really heard before when I do a track", George continues. "It's important to always deliver somthing that makes people go, - hey, what was that?, when they listen to a track. This is usually also the kind of thing that makes a crowd really freak out on the dancefloor, which after all, is the general purpose of things", says George and smiles.

George is now back in the studio to follow up his latest single "Remember Me (From The Ghetto)" featuring Deborah Cox on vocals which is a re-vamp of the 1997 BlueBoy classic "Remember Me" that was an epic club hit back in the day. "I was playing around with a track I'd been working on for a while and tried some vocal ideas I had in my head when I suddenly realized it was a perfect match with Remember Me," George explains. "This made me go back to my old vinyl collection and dig out the track, and read up on the background. Turns out the BlueBoy song was based on a live performance of a song called "Woman of the Ghetto" by Marlena Shaw captured at the Montreux jazz festival. I knew I had to listen to it before I started synching up the vocals to my track, and when I finally found the originally recording I was amazed by the multitude of musical ideas that were still unexplored. So, in the end I ended up using not only the vocal parts made famous by BlueBoy but also a number of Marlena's original live adlibs. After putting it all together back in the studio I only had one singer in mind for the track and it was of course Deborah Cox, whose epic vocal performances on tracks like "Leave The World Behind" by Swedish House Mafia and "Same Script, Different Cast" with Whitney Houston, had lef me amazed by what she could do as a vocalist. I reached out to her management in Miami, and she was on board instantly once she had heard the demo of the track. I think she knew right away that she would totally sing this one through the roof once she got in the studio. I think also the historical background of the lyrics to "Woman of the Ghetto", being polemic to legislators regarding the social and legal rights of women in the US back in the 1960's, leaves no one unaffected", says George and continues, "Even though future generations may not be aware of the entire context the song it still very much echoes the dignity, strength and conviction of fearless women fighting for their rights."
