Call the alarm and hear your warning - Reso has arrived. Hospital Records are incredibly proud to present the master of the drums’ debut Hospital LP, “Ricochet”. Over twelve tracks Reso successfully defines the optimal balance of crazy and calm, driving through tension rousing build-ups and captivating breakdowns. Having exclusively signed to Hospital Records in 2014, we welcome Reso’s second solo display with the label following his “Pulse Code” EP released last March. With his phenomenal skills behind a drum kit and previous engineering experience with highly acclaimed dubstep producer Burial, Reso has set his stance as a producer’s producer with “Ricochet” as a just reminder to expect no less. “Ricochet” demonstrates Reso’s impeccable assiduity with drum-driven mayhem and futuristic euphoria. Tracks ‘Move It’, ‘The Blob’, ‘Taiga’ and title track ‘Ricochet’ facilitate Reso’s spirit of unquestioned diligence with their multi-layered madness. Following, ‘What Is’ and ‘Coming Back To You’ make full use of Reso’s cinematic soundscapes and painstakingly precise drum patterns. Not only a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Hospital’s home genre of drum and bass but a versatile producer who seamlessly shifts focus with “Echo Loss” through melodic synths and emotive jazz-styled piano. Guaranteed to find it’s way into any respected DJ’s track-list, “Ricochet” is about to take every dance-floor by storm as an album firmly cementing Reso as a strong-standing member of the Hospital roster.

Data B makes his full Codename: RCRDS debut with 'Deep Reflections EP', which provides a stunning showcase of this rising producers talents.

The EP opens with 'Elsewhere', a euphoric collaboration with label co-owner Moakz with spine-tingling pads and soaring leads entwined with rolling breaks and bass for a superb opener. The EP continues with the deep liquid roller 'Wakeup', full of crisp drums and chopped vocals, before moving into the glacial-tinged beauty of 'Change Your Mind'. This echoes the work of masters such as LSB with its introspective vocals, stunning strings and plucked guitars. The release then switches into another direction to close the EP for the crusty breaks and eerie vocals of the rolling 'Broken Window'.

Drum & Bass adventurer Hybris is known for his consummate sound design, but his latest release with Melbourne-based collective Plasma Audio sees the Prague-based producer venturing deep into a concept with Plasma partners Safire and Akane that has made the art as tangible as Hybris’ own audio textures.

As discussed with UKF earlier this week, Hybris and the Plasma team became inspired by his forthcoming two-tracker Krackalakin/Munchies and immediately felt a need to build something real around it. Safire explained the process in detail —

Our focus was to keep elements in the design our own, all things are real – the chocolate, leaf, hand drawn font and obviously Hybris’s face. Once the design was complete, it was adapted to fit a generic block size, we wrapped a chocolate block and did some product photography. It feels like there is so much digital work around, not much is made by hand or has a natural element to it…. We want to bring the human side back into art and music.

Today, Hybris and Plasma premiere the A-side, “Krackalakin,” which sees Hybris “having fun with getting crackly textures out of a soft synth” in meandering halftime. In 2018 Hospital Records flew the drum & bass family to the shores of Tisno for a five day getaway in the glorious Croatian sunshine. With prime selections from the likes of Metrik, Sweetpea, Kasra, S.P.Y, Chris Inperspective, Makoto, Bou and more, this mixed CD and digital release is best served loud, with crisp refreshing beverages, a beaming sun and sand between the toes.
