With roots that began as a place to support emerging DJ talent during lockdown, Phase Records has matured into an impressive new-gen D&B monster in recent years.

Founded and fired up by London-based artist Gabby Gifta, first came the Phase events, then came the free downloads before the brand levelled up to a fully-paid label last September.

10 months later, the label is now seven full releases deep. The latest landed last week courtesy of Xyde. Gifta joins him on the lead track Blink State. To celebrate the release Gifta has delivered an hour of future-focused dark drum & bass funk.

Flipping between minimal, neuro and jump-up at a rate of knots, Gifta describes the high energy fusion as ‘scatimal’. We described it as vibes. Press play and feel free to tell us how you’d describe it. First, read on and find out where Gifta is at half way through 2023:

In at number 6 in our series is the one and only Ana Crusis! 

DJ, songwriter and vocalist from Jersey she has being making a massive impact on the scene with her heavy DJ sets, mixes and events that she has put on in Jersey ( Awaken The Empress ) which featured a full female line up! 

Also a resident of Yamatai Records, Phase Records, The Midnight Massacre, CRE8 DnB, Flair Entertainment!

Ana likes to get lost in the Deep, Dark underground realms of sounds.

Although Ana’s taste in music is heavily spread out across genres, when mixing on the decks you can find her focusing on everything Dark, Techy and Heavy. She likes to push boundaries and break barriers of what would be considered “acceptable”. 

This can be shown in some of her outerworldly deep twisted concoctions blending experimental wonky sounds and some of her sinister artwork covers. In her latest promo mix she enjoyed introducing more BPM changes throughout her mix.

You can expect a rollercoaster of blends, double drops & more weird and wonderful mixing in this banger of a Neuro mix.
